In Disney Dreamlight Valley, players get the delightful opportunity to live and interact with their favorite Disney and Pixar characters. From time to time, the game keeps presenting different quests from various characters where players need to help them one way or another.
The life sim features over 20 characters from the Disney universe, and in order to raise friendship levels with these characters and progress through the game, it is mandatory for players to complete their friendship quests. The Mystical Crystal is one of the friendship quests for Prince Eric. It is among the most complicated quests in the game, and completing it requires a lot of legwork. This guide will share step-by-step instructions on how to complete The Mystical Cave friendship quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Get The Mystical Crystal Quest
Once players reach Level 10 Friendship with Eric, they will receive the Mystical Crystal quest. This will be the last quest from Eric, where players need to complete a couple of tasks for the sailor. First, they will have to help him fix his compass, and then they are tasked with collecting materials required for Eric's diving suit.
Talk to Eric and Merlin
Once the quest begins, go to Eric and talk to him about his last expedition. He will reveal that he found a strange artifact in one of the mysterious ruins, while his compass went out of control. Players need to get that artifact and compass from Eric, and take it to Merlin.
Merlin will tell players that the compass needs enchantment, and will list the materials required to enchant the compass. The next step is to gather those materials:
- 5 Purified Night Shards
- 10 Crystals
Collecting the Required Materials
Crafting each Purified Night Shard requires five Night Shards and one Dream Shard. Collectively, 25 Night Shards and five Dream Shards can get players their desired number of purified night shards. Dream Shards can be earned by feeding the animals and clearing the pathways by getting rid of the night thorns in the valley.
Night Shards are relatively easier to collect. Just dig around the shining dirt piles around the valley and collect the required number of Night Shards.
With these materials in hand, head to a crafting station and start working on making the Purified Night Shards. The last item on the list is Crystals, which players can get by mining in Forgotten Lands.
Return to Merlin and Deliver the Mystical Compass to Eric
Once players have obtained 10 crystals and five Purified Night Shards, get back to Merlin and hand him the ingredients he asked for. Upon receiving the materials, the wizard will enchant the compass. Now the compass is transformed into the Mystical Compass, and is ready to be used.
Take the compass from Merlin and head to Prince Eric to deliver the enchanted compass. He will be grateful and will ask the player to get certain materials to craft his diving suit.
Players need to gather the following materials for Eric's diving suit:
- 20 Fabric
- 15 Iron Ingot
- 8 Glass
- 5 Gold Ingot
Gathering the Materials for Diving Suit
Fabric can be crafted using cotton, which can be grown from cotton seeds. Players need to gather 100 cotton for 20 fabric. Purchase cotton seeds for 42 Star Coins from Goofy's Stall in the Sunlit Plateau. Make sure to get 100 cotton seeds, because each seed grows into one cotton. These seeds take 25 minutes to grow and fully sprout. Players will have to water them in the meantime using the watering can.
To create 15 iron ingots, players need 75 iron ore and 15 coal ore. Iron ore is available all around the valley, especially in the Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Forgotten Lands, Frosted Heights, and Sunlit Plateau biomes. Mine the rock spots around any of these locations using the royal Pickaxe tool and collect the required iron ore.
To craft 8 glass, players will need 40 sand and 8 coal ore.
Finally, to craft the required Gold Ingots, players need to gather five Gold Nuggets and five coal ores. It is important to note that Gold Nuggets are only available in a few biomes, including Frosted Heights, Sunlit Plateau, and Forgotten Lands. Get them from there and craft the required materials at the crafting station.
Return to Eric
After creating all the required materials, return to Eric and present him with the crafted materials. He will thank players for their assistance and reward them with a diving helmet and a miniature boat, marking the completion of the Mystical Crystal quest.
