  • The expansion will feature three story acts, a new world with unique biomes, and popular Disney characters like Jafar, EVE, Rapunzel, and Gaston.
  • The post-launch content roadmap includes Jack "Pumpkin King" Skellington, ValleyVerse multiplayer mode, additional Realms, and several new villagers, possibly Daisy and Tiana.

Gameloft detailed the first paid expansion for Disney Dreamlight Valley, A Rift in Time, in addition to revealing the majority of the game's 2024 content roadmap. The info dump arrived as part of the November 1 Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase, which ran for nearly 40 minutes.

Disney Dreamlight Valley combines adventure game elements with life sim mechanics into an experience resembling Animal Crossing: New Horizons, just with somewhat more elaborate quests, a larger map, and a wide variety of Disney characters. After spending 15 months in early access, the life sim was recently treated to a December 5 release date. Gameloft's decision to indefinitely delay the free-to-play version of Disney Dreamlight Valley took away some of the excitement stemming from that announcement.

Gameloft shares the patch notes detailing the big Enchanted Adventure update for Disney Dreamlight Valley, its popular life sim.

The newly concluded Disney Dreamlight Valley showcase is bound to have the opposite effect, as it revealed the game's content roadmap all the way up to summer 2024, and offered a large amount of information about its first paid expansion, A Rift in Time. The latter will feature three story acts, the first of which will coincide with the base game's global release in early December. The DLC itself is set to introduce a new world spanning a trio of unique biomes: Ancient's Landing, Glittering Dunes, and Wild Tangle.

The main story quest accompanying the expansion will revolve around time travel and feature Jafar from Aladdin. EVE from WALL-E, Tangled's Rapunzel, and Gaston from Beauty and the Beast will also partake in the DLC, with all of them being set to appear during its first act. The following two acts, both of which are planned to debut in 2024, will add even more characters to Disney Dreamlight Valley. Gameloft promised to share more details about those incoming additions closer to their respective releases.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Expansion Roadmap 1

The developer also used the November 1 showcase as an opportunity to detail the game's post-launch free content roadmap, starting with the December 5 debut of Jack "Pumpkin King" Skellington and the ValleyVerse multiplayer mode. From there, a new Realm is scheduled to appear in early 2024, with that incoming addition possibly being related to the Monsters Inc. franchise, as its teaser features the one-eyed Mike Wazowski. A mysterious new Villager is then set to arrive to Disney Dreamlight Valley in early spring, as revealed by an image of Donald Duck's boat, also known as The Miss Daisy. Based on that hint, the Villager in question might be Daisy herself.

Late spring will then see the arrival of yet another Realm, which Gameloft teased with a quote evocative of the 1998 Mulan movie, wherein the Emperor states that "you don't meet a girl like that every dynasty." The final teaser hinting at the game's summer 2024 content drop appears to be more straightforward to interpret, as it features an image of Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. The showcase also saw Gameloft reiterate how all Disney Dreamlight Valley Founder's Pack owners will receive the Gold Edition cosmetics for free once the game leaves early access.
