In Disney Dreamlight Valley, there are Story Quests that players can only obtain upon opening certain biomes. The best example of this is the Story Quest, which allows players to add Kristoff and Donald Duck to their roster of villagers. However, simply unlocking the Forest of Valor is only the first step to accomplishing this.
In order to hang out with these two characters and level them up, players will first need to complete the quest to find and rescue Donald Duck. This guide will help Disney Dreamlight Valley players know exactly what they need to do in order to accomplish that.
How To Unlock The Forest Of Valor
In order to open the way to the Forest of Valor, players will need to have completed the quest to restore the Pillar of Friendship. Once that is done, they will be able to use Dreamlight to open other Biomes like the Glade of Trust and the Forest of Valor.
How To Start Lost In The Dark Grove
Upon unlocking the Forest of Valor biome, players will get a quest to find Kristoff. It won't take much exploration of the Forest of Valor before players are able to find him. Kristoff reveals that Donald Duck ran into the portal that is right next to him. Once players enter the portal, they will find themselves in a small area surrounded by thick fog. Attempting to go further will result in the player being sent back where they started.
On the ground nearby is a glowing feather. Players should make sure to grab the Feather and use the portal to return to Kristoff. After talking to Kristoff, he will tell Disney Dreamlight Valley players to go talk to Merlin to see if he knows a way to get through the fog. Luckily Merlin has a magical solution for the fog problem, but in order for the spell to work, he will need some items (some of which have low drop rates). The items are as follows:
- The Feather that players already found
- A plant from the Dark Grove
- Two Emeralds
- Four Dream Shards
The Emeralds can only be found in the Glade of Trust and the Forest of Valor. It is recommended that players bring a companion along who has the Mining Role, as this gives players a better chance of getting an extra Emerald when one spawns. The quest requires Emeralds specifically, so players shouldn't try to use Shiny Emeralds.
The plant can be found in the area that lies beyond the portal where players met Kristoff. Dream Shards can be found when removing Night Thorns, but they have a very low drop rate, so it may take players some time to gather four of them.
How To Find Donald Duck
Once the spell components have been turned in to Merlin, Disney Dreamlight Valley players will need to go back through the portal. Donald's Feather will glow brightly and float through the mist. Players should follow it as closely as they can, and they will eventually be led to where Donald Duck is. After a brief conversation, Donald Duck will give players the Orb of Courage. The quest will be completed once players go through the portal and insert the Orb into the Pillar of Courage, and Donald Duck will join the cast of villagers.
