Disney Dreamlight Valley's The Laugh Floor Update welcomes two beloved characters, James P. Sullivan, widely known as Sulley, and Mike Wazowski, from the acclaimed Monsters, Inc. series. This update allows players to explore the Monsters Inc. Realm, where they encounter these cherished jokesters and assist in resolving issues at the factory.
Once that’s all sorted out, Sulley and Mike can relocate to Dreamlight Valley, where players have the opportunity to foster friendships with them as with any other residents. This is achieved through various means such as gift exchanges, meal preparations, daily conversations, and engaging in activities together. Strengthening these bonds unlocks unique rewards and special quests at certain Friendship Levels. How to Start the Quest "Monster Movie Night"
The Disney Dreamlight Valley quest “Monster Movie Night” is the first Friendship Quest players will unlock through increasing their bond with Sulley, after unlocking and inviting him to live in Dreamlight Valley. The player will unlock this quest at Friendship Level 2 with Sulley, which can be easily attained through simple gift-giving. Speak with Sulley after meeting the criteria to start the quest, "Monster Movie Night."
How to Complete the Quest “Monster Movie Night”
Upon speaking with Sulley, he shares that he is eager to bring back Monster Movie Night, a beloved tradition from his time in the Valley. He wanted to rent some scary movies for the event and went to Scrooge's Store, only to find there were no videotapes available. Sulley mentioned that Scrooge was too busy with another customer for him to ask about the videos.
Speak to Scrooge About the Videos
In response, you offer to talk with Scrooge on Sulley's behalf. Scrooge explains that he stopped renting out videos because it was too difficult to ensure their return. He thinks some villagers might still have tapes that weren’t returned before The Forgetting, suggesting "20,000 Giant Arachnids Under the Bed" would be perfect for movie night. Scrooge believes Ursula, Mickey, or Goofy might have this tape.
Speak with Mickey Mouse
When you approach Mickey Mouse about the tape, he fondly remembers Monster Movie Nights and mentions Minnie’s love for scary monster movies. Mickey had set up a showing right before The Forgetting but couldn’t hold the event. He remembers leaving the videotape somewhere dark in Dazzle Beach.

Descend Into the Mystical Cave
Following Mickey’s clue, head to Dazzle Beach and enter the Mystical Cave, accessible from the grassy part of the beach. You should go all the way down to the cave's bottom level, where you'll find the videotape buried. Using the Royal Shovel, dig up the tape and bring it to Sulley. He's thrilled about the chance to restart Monster Movie Night with the tape in hand, but notes the need for a Big Scream TV.
Collect Materials and Craft The Big Scream TV
To make the Big Scream TV, you need to gather:
- 50 Fiber
- 20 Softwood
- 10 Glass
With these materials, head to a crafting table where you will find the recipe for the Big Scream TV in the Functional Items category. After crafting the TV, return to Sulley, who then shifts his focus to getting snacks and inviting guests to the event.
Speak with Mike Wasowski
Sulley suggests Mike would be happy to contribute his signature snack mix to the event. Upon consulting Mike, he confirms his excitement for the upcoming event and assures you the snacks are covered. However, Mike thinks your outfit could be more themed for Monster Movie Night and suggests wearing a blue casual top, blue casual pants, and "Scarer Sulley" Slippers, mentioning that Sulley would appreciate the look.
Equip a Casual Monster Movie Night Outfit
To easily find and equip a blue casual top and blue casual pants, open the Wardrobe menu and click on Sulley’s portrait at the top of the list, which leads to a filtered selection of items. Alternately, you can click on the "Tops" category, then click “Filters” and select “Blue” under the Color header, then scroll down and select “Casual” under the Style header. Repeat this process in the Wardrobe’s "Pants" category.
Players can equip any T-shirt with blue on it and any pair of blue jeans to easily meet these requirements.
The final piece of the outfit is a specific pair of shoes: the “Scarer Sulley” Slippers. These shoes have been in the game for some time already, so it’s possible that you may already own them. If not, head to Scrooge’s Store and speak with him, and he will allow you to order these shoes from his catalog to meet this requirement. Once properly dressed for Monster Movie Night, head back to Sulley.
Place the Big Scream TV
Sulley is thrilled everything is ready for Monster Movie Night! He hands over the Big Scream TV and tells you to place it wherever they think will be the best spot for the event. After setting up, you'll have a photo opportunity to celebrate Monster Movie Night's success, and Sulley thanks you, ending the quest "Monster Movie Night" and gifting you the Big Scream TV furniture item.
