Miracle Growth Elixir was a new item added to Disney Dreamlight Valley with the first major content update that temporarily buffed the Royal Watering Can, and now players can create Miracle Shovel Varnish to do something similar to their shovel. The similarity of the name to Dreamlight Valley's Miracle Growth Elixir makes it obvious that this will be some kind of temporary enchantment, but the game doesn't do a great job of explaining exactly what the Miracle Shovel Varnish does and whether or not it is worth the hefty material and Dreamlight requirement to craft it.

The Miracle Growth Elixir enchants the Royal Watering Can so that any plant it waters instantly grows. This is incredibly useful for Disney Dreamlight Valley players that are trying to complete the Sunlit Plateau's quest or even just grow pumpkins for money. The shovel is used for planting also, but the Miracle Shovel Varnish has nothing to do with gardening.

What Does Miracle Shovel Varnish Do?

Merlin tells the player that using Miracle Shovel Varnish will allow them to "discover more treasures by digging," but before players use the valuable potion, they'll want to know exactly what that means. Essentially, everywhere that players dig when using the temporarily enchanted shovel will yield even more resources than normal, as well as a bunch of coins. Players can use this as a way to expedite gathering resources in Dreamlight Valley, such as snowballs, clay, or pebbles. What's more, players can even bring a digging companion to further increase the resources they earn from a single press of the button.

It's worth noting that there are two different kinds of Miracle Shovel Varnish. They both have the same effect on the shovel but with different durations. The standard Miracle Shovel Varnish lasts for five uses of the shovel, whereas the Even More Miraculous Shovel Varnish lasts for a total of 12 uses. It's important to note that digging on glowing treasure spots (the ones that tend to produce Dream Shards or Night Shards) does not use up charges of the enchantment; only digging on normal ground will do this.

Given the hefty price of Miracle Shovel Varnish and its upgraded counterpart, players may want to hold off on using any unless they are really in a bind for a certain resource. That said, it may be a good shortcut to completing Minnie's infamous clock tower quest or gathering lots of resources for other endeavors. Players wanting to use it frequently will need to stock up on Dreamlight, Dry Wood, and Vitalys Crystals.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is in early access now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
