Among the host of magical tools Disney Dreamlight Valley players have at their disposal, it can be easy to forget about the fishing rod, but using Miracle Fishing Bait makes this already impressive tool even more worthwhile. This new item is actually a temporary enchantment for the player's Royal Fishing Rod, enhancing its capabilities for a set number of uses. The drawback to this is obvious since the potion requires a lot of materials to craft, leaving many players wondering if it is really worth using. While Merlin tells players that the Miracle Fishing Bait will make them better at fishing, he doesn't really explain exactly what it does.

Miracle Fishing Bait was added to Disney Dreamlight Valley as part of its second major content update, Missions in Uncharted Space. It is similar in nature and name to Miracle Growth Elixir, the item that temporarily buffs the Royal Watering Can. Though these items are crafted in very similar ways, their effects are quite different from one another.

What Does Miracle Fishing Bait Do?

Applying the Miracle Fishing Bait to the player's Royal Fishing Rod temporarily enchants it, making all white fishing bubbles turn gold when the player casts their line for the duration. For players that aren't aware, the color of the bubbles in the water determines the rarity of the fish the player will catch. White is the most basic rarity, followed by blue, and then gold. Golden bubbles are rare and provide players with unique fish in every biome, including Swordfish, Lobsters, White Sturgeons, and Anglerfish.

Standard Miracle Fishing Bait lasts for five casts, but players wanting to get more out of the enchantment can instead opt to craft Even More Miraculous Fishing Bait, a stronger version that has the same effect but lasts for 12 casts instead. It should be said that this enchantment has no effect on fishing bubbles that are already blue or gold, as it only alters the results of fishing in white bubble spots. The fish players obtain from gold bubbles tend to sell for quite a bit and are often used to befriend critters in Dreamlight Valley.

Unfortunately, crafting Miracle Fishing Bait requires Red Algae, a relatively rare new material. In addition, players will also need to stock up on Vitalys Crystals and Dreamlight if they want to use this enchantment regularly. Instead, it may be a good idea to keep some handy in case a quest or star path event requires players to catch certain rare fish.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is in early access now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
