As Dreamers meet new characters while exploring the different Biomes in Disney Dreamlight Valley, they will also stumble upon some ingredients for cooking. Cooking is a crucial mechanism that plays a huge role in multiple Friendship Quests. It's also beneficial for players since it restores Energy.
Any recipe has its own rarity in Disney Dreamlight Valley that reveals how many ingredients it requires. Sweet Herring, for example, is a 2-Star dish, meaning it needs two ingredients. Upon cooking the dish, Dreamers can eat it, sell it, or give it to other characters as a gift.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Get Scales
Out of all the available the Disney Dreamlight Valley Biomes, Scales can only be found in one of them.
Updated on December 29, 2023, by Nhada Nabiilah: Fishing can obviously be done by using the Fishing Rod Tool in Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, thanks to a certain character who likes to venture beyond where the skyline meets the sea, there's another way to catch Fish. After unlocking the Moana Realm and inviting her to the Village, players can hang out with her until she reaches Friendship level two. This will trigger a Quest where Moana asks you to collect a few items to fix the broken boat, so she can sail and bring back some Fish. Before doing all of that, make sure you have numerous Dreamlights to open the necessary Biomes.
How To Make Sweet Herring In Disney Dreamlight Valley
To make Sweet Herring, it’s vital that players collect the necessary ingredients in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Luckily, it only requires two simple ingredients: Herring and Onion. The former is a type of fish that can be easily caught using the Fishing Rod, while the latter is one of the many vegetables found in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Herring
Herring is a fish caught in either Dazzle Beach or Glade of Trust. Players can cast the Fishing Rod at any white ripples to catch the Herring. But keep in mind that Herring isn’t the only low-quality fish in these Biomes. This means that it’s possible to obtain another low-rarity fish like Cod or Tuna while fishing. Dreamers must keep fishing until a Herring appears.
As for the amount of Dreamlight required to unlock the necessary Biomes, Dazzle Beach costs 1,000 Dreamlight, while Glade of Trust needs 5,000 Dreamlight. Fortunately, it appears that fishing at Dazzle Beach rewards more Herring than fishing at the Glade of Trust.
If Dreamers aren’t having any luck fishing at Dazzle Beach and don’t have enough Dreamlight to open Glade of Trust, they can always check Moana’s boat at the beach for any caught Herring.
Onion
Onions are considered vegetables in Disney Dreamlight Valley that can be found at Goofy’s Stall in Forest of Valor. The requested Biome can be unlocked quite early in the game since it costs 3,000 Dreamlight.
While shopping at the stall, Dreamers can either buy Onion as an ingredient ready to cook for 255 Star Coins or buy a bag of Onion Seeds for 50 Star Coins in Disney Dreamlight Valley. If players aren’t in a rush, they can buy the seeds and plant the Onion, and it should be ready for harvest after one hour and 15 minutes.
Once all necessary ingredients are gathered, throw them all in a pot using any stove and consume one Coal Ore to complete the Sweet Herring. The 2-Star recipe offers 723 Energy, and it can be sold for 305 Star Coins at any Goofy’s Stall.
How To Get Dreamlights To Unlock Biomes In Disney Dreamlight Valley
Luckily for players, Dreamlight isn't that difficult to obtain, but it is rather time-consuming. By opening the Main Menu and going to the Dreamlight Tab, you will discover various categories, each containing a number of tasks that reward Dreamlight. There are nine categories in total and each one is self-explanatory on the tasks it includes, except for the Dreamlight Duties one, as it's a mix of everything. The categories are:
- Dreamlight Duties
- Foraging
- Gardening
- Fishing
- Cooking
- Collection
- Friendship
- Village
- Mining
The Dreamlight reward varies from one task to another as it depends on the difficulty of the task. Players might receive 50 Dreamlights from a task and complete a harder one to get 500 Dreamlights. To collect Dreamlights quickly, try targeting the difficult missions as they reward more and complete small tasks occasionally.
How To Unlock Moana Boat In Disney Dreamlight Valley
Moana's boat is available once you complete Moana's Friendship level two Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley, Fixing the Boat. The following materials are required to complete the Quest:
- Softwood x50: The Plaza, Peaceful Meadow, Forest of Valor, and Glade of Trust.
- Fiber x70: Catch Seaweed from empty spots on Dazzle Beach and craft Fiber at Crafting Station.
- Pink Hydrangea x3: Dazzle Beach.
Once Dreamers have all the necessary materials in Disney Dreamlight Valley, head to a Crafting Station and create:
- Rustic Wooden Case x3
- Basket x3
- Rope x4
As mentioned before, Herring is a low-rarity Fish, which means players will have a higher chance of finding it in Moana's boat upon unlocking it, if they don't wish to fish it themselves from other Biomes.
