Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Beauty and the Beast realm offers a magical experience unlike any other. Within this realm, players can unlock its namesake beloved characters, Belle and The Beast. The secret to welcoming these characters to the Valley involves more than just unlocking the new realm; it also calls for a touch of relationship counseling. Here’s everything players need to know to get started on their adventure with the first quest in the Beauty and the Beast realm, “Into The West Wing” in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Unlock the Beauty and the Beast Realm

To venture into the Beauty and the Beast realm, head to the palace and interact with the door. Merlin will appear and inform the player that the realm can be unlocked using 12500 Dreamlight. Select the option to open the door and the thorns will clear, allowing access to the Beauty and the Beast realm.

How to Start the Quest "Into the West Wing"

The quest "Into the West Wing" begins immediately after unlocking the realm. Upon entering the Beauty and the Beast realm, the player should proceed forward until they discover a Flying Book. The player should follow the book as it leads them through the castle stopping upon reaching a large library.

How to Complete the Quest "Into the West Wing"

Inside the library, the player will meet Belle, who requires assistance in capturing five flying books soaring around the room. To capture the books, simply chase them down and collect them using the Interact hotkey. Once all five books have been collected, the player can return to Belle to return the troublesome books.

Upon speaking with Belle, she will reveal that she and The Beast had an argument, resulting in The Beast locking himself in the castle’s West Wing. The player proposes that the strange occurrence involving the books may have been caused by the turmoil of Belle’s feelings. Belle mentions that The Beast is the one who is most upset, but they won't be able to get through the door of the West Wing to see him and try to work things out.

She recalls Lumière mentioning that the library holds a secret passage to that area. She suggests checking around the library, while she works on putting the rogue books in their place, and specifically mentions that the player should inspect a rolling ladder found in the back right corner of the library.

Investigate and Repair the Library's Ladder

Upon examining the ladder, the player finds it's broken. To repair the ladder found inside the library of Dreamlight Valley's Beauty and the Beast realm and unlock the secret passage, the player needs to locate the following materials:

• 2 Missing Wheel
• 4 Broken Ladder Step

All six components can be found within the Library. Here’s where to find all the missing wheels and broken ladder steps in the Library:

Return to the broken ladder and add the materials in the empty slots, in a configuration with the two Missing Wheels in the slots on either side of the bottom row, and every other space filled with the Broken Ladder Steps. If the components won’t correctly drag into the slots, the player may need to make use of the Transfer from Inventory function. Once the parts have been placed, the repaired ladder activates the nearby bookcase, causing it to slide open and reveal the entrance to the secret passage Lumière had mentioned.

Craft a Disguise to Enter West Wing

With the passage revealed, the player needs to head back to Belle to let her know they’ve found a way into the West Wing. Belle is hesitant to visit The Beast since he is still upset, so the player suggests going instead. Belle doesn’t think The Beast will let just anyone in, and proposes that she and the player craft a convincing disguise to gain an audience with The Beast. Belle decides that the player will make a convincing Lumière, and sends the player to fetch the following materials, all of which are found within the Beauty and the Beast realm:

• 4 Castle Candle
• Golden Candle Holder
• Golden Curtain

These items can be tricky to locate, but will sparkle when the player gets near. Here’s where to find all four Castle Candles in Disney Dreamlight Valley:

Once the candles have been collected, there are two remaining items for the player to locate: the Golden Candle Holder and Golden Curtain. To find these two items, the player should head to the following locations:

Once all six items have been collected, hand these materials to Belle, who puts her sewing skills to work and crafts a Candlestick Disguise and Candle Hat. The player should open the inventory and equip both pieces of this totally convincing disguise, then head back to the hidden passage. They will now be able to enter the West Wing through the curtain at the top of the stairs.

Speak to The Beast in the West Wing

Once inside the West Wing, the player will find The Beast standing before a violently torn portrait. The player can speak with The Beast, who will quickly express that he isn’t falling for the whole candlestick routine. The player discovers that The Beast is upset because Belle was staring at an old portrait depicting him in his human form. Despite the player’s efforts to make him realize that they are visiting on behalf of Belle, who is concerned for him, he becomes furious and forces the player to leave.

The player returns to Belle in the library to explain what happened in the West Wing. The player and Belle decide to create a new painting; unfortunately, neither have any painting skills. The player decides Merlin is the right person to ask for help, and should head back to Dreamlight Valley to speak with him.

Speak to Merlin and Craft the Enchanted Canvas

Once they've found Merlin, the player discusses the predicament in the Beauty and the Beast realm, emphasizing the strange need for a self-painting painting. Merlin offers a solution: an Enchanted Canvas capable of creating the ideal scene. To craft this Enchanted Canvas, Merlin instructs the player to gather specific materials.

Besides the physical items from the Valley, Merlin notes that a crucial component for the perfect painting involves speaking with Belle. The player should ask her to share joyful memory she has with the Beast. Once the player has collected these materials, head to any crafting table and craft the Enchanted Canvas, found in the Functional Items category.

Return to Belle in the Beauty and the Beast Realm

To get that necessary final ingredient, the player needs to head back to the Beauty and the Beast realm, where they’ll find Belle just inside the entrance. Give Belle the Enchanted Canvas and follow her to the library, through the passage, and into the West Wing. Without the Beast present, Belle recounts a cherished memory she has with him. The canvas then produces an impeccable image, capturing a touching moment between the pair. Upon his return to the West Wing, the Beast encounters the painting and is touched by the scene it portrays.

The player should then speak with Belle, mentioning a visit to Dreamlight Valley. Belle is interested in traveling to the Valley, but she doesn’t think The Beast would want to go. Concluding this conversation completes the quest “Into The West Wing” and unlocks the next quest in the Beauty and the Beast realm, “A Prince in Disguise,” which can be started by speaking with The Beast.
