Disney Dreamlight Valley features two characters from the film Moana, Moana and Maui, both of which can be unlocked very early in the game. To welcome these beloved characters to Dreamlight Valley, the player needs to unlock the Moana Realm, one of the first three realms available to new players.

The Moana Realm can be accessed through the middle door in the Dream Castle. If the player decides to unlock the Moana Realm first, it will be opened for free, but access to the other two available realms will cost 3,000 Dreamlight each. Here's how players can unlock the oh-so-humble demigod Maui in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Start "A Feast Worthy of a Demigod"

Upon entering the Moana Realm, the player will meet both Moana and Maui through a series of quests. The quest to unlock Maui, “A Feast Worthy of a Demigod,” is the final quest in the Moana Realm and becomes available after completing the quest “How Far You’ll Go” for Moana. Moana’s quest results in her leaving the realm and relocating to Dreamlight Valley.

With Moana gone, Maui has decided he’s bored without people around to appreciate him, but he is skeptical that Dreamlight Valley is good enough for a demigod of his stature. He declares that the measure of the valley’s worth should be determined by the quality of its food. To convince him that the food in the valley is top-notch, the player is tasked with preparing three meals that are at least three-star rating or higher.

Prepare Three 3-Star Meals

The player can prepare any appetizers, entrees, or dessert they want for Maui so long as they are at least three-star quality. It’s recommended to serve him three-star meals, as there’s no advantage to serving him four or five-star recipes; they’ll just use up more ingredients.

There are numerous three-star recipes available in DisneyDreamlight Valley that the player will already have learned. However, the most simple meal to create at this early point in the game, before the player has unlocked many additional biomes and gained access to more ingredients, is a Grilled Veggie Platter.

To prepare a Grilled Veggie Platter, the player can visit a cooking station and combine any three vegetables in the cooking pot. If the player uses Lettuce as any of the vegetables, they will create a Hearty Salad instead which is another suitable dish to serve Maui.

To obtain vegetables for this recipe, the player may need to obtain seeds from Goofy’s Stall. Goofy’s Stall in Peaceful Meadow sells both Lettuce Seeds and Carrot Seeds, either of which will work for Maui’s meals. Dig a hole for each bag of seeds using the Royal Shovel and plant them, then keep the seeds watered with the Royal Watering Can until they have grown.

Return To Maui With The Meals

Once the player has prepared the three meals to serve Maui, the player should head back to the Moana Realm and speak with Maui. He will agree to move to Dreamlight Valley but only if it features a suitable location for his Peaceful Grotto, a large cave with its very own island. This means the player will need to find a large body of water, which means gaining access to the Dazzle Beach biome.

The Dazzle Beach biome costs 1,000 Dreamlight to unlock, which players can earn by completing Dreamlight Duties and various other tasks throughout the Valley. Once the player has unlocked the Dazzle Beach biome, they can open the Furniture menu and will see an icon of Maui which they can click on, allowing them to place his home in the nearby water. The player will have to pay Scrooge McDuck 5,000 Star Coins to finish construction of the home, but once they have done so, Maui will join the residents of Dreamlight Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
