Cooking is a fundamental activity in Disney's Dreamlight Valley, as the delicious meals that players make can not only be used to restore energy but also as a gift for villagers or as required quest items. Many of the recipes in the game are typical food items, but some are direct references to food that appeared in Disney movies. This is the case with Mushu's Congee, a replica of the porridge that Mushu makes Mulan for breakfast before her first day of training.

Every recipe in Disney's Dreamlight Valley has a star rating based on how many ingredients it requires. Mushu's Congee is a five-star recipe, meaning players will need five different ingredients in order to make the dish. Every ingredient needed to make the recipe can be found, foraged, or planted within the valley, players just need to gather everything up before heading to a cooking station.

The five ingredients for Mushu's Congee in Dreamlight Valley are as follows:

  • Rice: Can be purchased from Goofy's stall in the Glade of Trust.
  • Eggs: Can be purchased directly from Remy's restaurant, Chez Remy.
  • Mushrooms: Can be foraged in the Glade of Trust.
  • Garlic: Can be foraged in the Forest of Valor.
  • Ginger: Can be foraged in the Forgotten Lands.

Once players have at least one of all five ingredients, head to a cooking station. It's also important to make sure that players have at least one piece of coal either in their inventory or in one of their storage locations. Drop all five ingredients into the pot and press cook.

What Does Mushu's Congee Do?

As a five-star meal, Mushu's Congee can be used for many things. If eaten, it restores 1,658 Energy and can provide players with the Well-fed bonus. This is necessary for Dreamlight Valley players to sprint. Five-star meals are also required for many star path duties, and Mushu's Congee may be requested by characters eating at Chez Remy. Oddly enough, Ravens in Dreamlight Valley love all five-star meals, so it works as a great gift for them as well.

Of course, players always have the option of simply selling Mushu's Congee for 753 Star Coins, but this is far from the best way to make money in Dreamlight Valley. It's much better to use this item as a gift, eat it for energy, or even set it out on a table as decoration in the player's house or other dining area.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is in early access now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
