Disney Dreamlight Valley is a story-based adventure and life simulation game featuring many familiar Disney and Pixar characters. Players find themselves in an abandoned village that has been taken over by dark magic, and it is up to them to restore the village into a thriving community.

The valley has many realms and explorable areas called Biomes, where players can find resources, ingredients, and more while completing story and friendship quests. While there is a fast travel mechanism between Biomes, the Pride of the Valley update introduced a new feature called hovering, allowing players to sprint for quicker traveling. This guide has everything players need to know to hover in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

How to Hover and Sprint in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley hover

Players will need to have a well-fed bonus if they want to use the hover ability. This means they will have to fill their energy meter up and continue to increase it past the maximum amount. The meter has a blue bar, but whenever well-fed is activated, it turns yellow and sparkly. The best way for players to fill the energy meter is to take a quick trip inside their house, which fills it up all the way automatically. They can also eat raw fruits and veggies or rest on benches and chairs to regain stamina.

To be well-fed, players must feed their character cooked meals when their energy meter is full. They can cook using any stove in the valley as long as they have raw ingredients and coal. The more stars a meal has, the more energy it supplies when eaten, and players can check star levels with their Recipe book.

All cooked meals are automatically sent to the player's inventory and can be accessed anytime. After eating cooked meals and filling the energy meter all the way up with yellow, they can now hover anywhere outside. To hover on PC, hold down the shift key while moving forward. Alternatively, Switch and Xbox players must hold down "B" while moving to activate the hover ability.

Hovering deplete energy relatively fast, so players will want to keep multiple cooked dishes on them if they want to use the ability often. They can also increase the size of their energy meter by completing friendship tasks such as daily discussions, bringing favorite gifts, hanging out with villagers, or serving meals in Remy's restaurant to improve their character level.

The well-fed bonus doesn't only affect hovering, but it also increases the player's luck in Disney Dreamlight Valley as of the Pride of the Valley update. This means that doing things like mining rock spots, fishing, harvesting, and digging has a higher chance of producing more or higher quality resources.
