Disney Dreamlight Valleys A Rift in Time expansion invites players to explore the mystical region of Eternity Isle, which features new characters to befriend, materials to gather, treasures to discover using the new Royal Hourglass magical tool, and more. This new region features a massive map that’s even larger than the original Valley, offering players an expansive potential blank slate to personalize to their liking.

A Rift in Time features three new unlockable characters–EVE, Gaston, and Rapunzel–and the free update that launched alongside the expansion allows players to welcome another beloved character to the Valley, Jack Skellington. As the population of Dreamlight Valley grows, so does the challenge of accommodating the homes of these characters. This task was already quite challenging within the confines of the base game's Valley region, especially due to the size of many character's residences.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Play Multiplayer & What You Can and Can't Do (Valley Visits Complete Guide)

Disney Dreamlight Valley finally has multiplayer, allowing players to visit their friends or show off their village.

Thankfully, Disney Dreamlight Valley:A Rift in Time offers a solution for players who prefer to focus on landscaping and decorating Dreamlight Valley's unique biomes without certain player's houses cramping their style. Players who purchase the expansion DLC can now move their Villager’s houses to and from the newly introduced Eternity Isle region.

The A Rift in Time expansion also gives players the ability to toggle whether a Villager is active in the Valley or Eternity Isle, and the character will remain hidden until reactivated. You can still move a Villager’s home even if that character is currently hidden.

How to Move a Villager’s Home Between Eternity Isle and the Valley

Furniture menu in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time

In Dreamlight Valley's base game, in order to move a Villager’s home in Disney Dreamlight Valley, the player’s only option is to open the Furniture menu while outdoors, granting them the ability to click on objects including objects such as trees, paths, decor, and villager houses, then drag them to the desired destination.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time features an updated Furniture Menu that now incorporates all unlocked Villager’s houses into its House section. This section now prominently displays a “Villagers’ Houses” category at the top, listing the homes of all characters that players have unlocked.

Previously, the House section of the Furniture Menu in Disney Dreamlight Valley was reserved only for player houses. Players continue to use this method to place an additional player house from this category for each unique house Dream Style they own.

To move a villager’s house to a different region, the player must first visit that map before they can make any changes to the house’s location. They can relocate only houses which are currently located on another map, and can freely swap house locations between the game’s two maps.

Moving EVEs house to Dreamlight Valley

To move a villager's home from the Valley to Eternity Isle, and vice versa, in Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Furniture Menu by pressing F on the keyboard, or via the Inventory menu if playing on console.
  2. Click on the House category icon in the top row.
  3. Select the House to move to the current map. Players can move only houses that are not currently located on this map.
  4. Place the house anywhere in the current map.

Once the house has been placed, the player can move it around the map using the standard method accessed via the Furniture menu.

Houses cannot be completely removed from either map; they must always be placed in either the Valley or Eternity Isle, even if the character has been temporarily removed via the new menu.

Relocating a villager’s home doesn't lead to significant changes in gameplay. Villagers remain active outdoors in both regions unless they were previously set to be hidden. However, they won't be seen wandering in both areas at the same time. It's important to note that when visiting either Chez Remy location, players will encounter the same characters in both, as their presence there depends on their dining schedule.

Placing a home on a new map is an easy way to teleport that villager to the current region if necessary. However, this generally should not be necessary, as any characters with whom the player has active quests will automatically spawn in the same region as the player for as long as that quest is available.
