As players explorer the biomes in Disney Dreamlight Valley, they will come across many little animals (or critters as the game refers to them) roaming around. Each biome has a unique animal that can be encountered in four to five different colors, though some may be out of reach until obstacles like tree stumps and mushrooms can be removed. Players also may notice that it is possible to feed these animals, but there is no real clear indication of what each animal would want.
So there is an element of trial and error when it comes to these animals and what their favorite food is. This guide will help players know where they can find Sea Turtles and what to feed them.
Where to Find Sea Turtles
Sea Turtles can only be found on Dazzle Beach. As mentioned above, there are five different kinds of Sea Turtles that can be encountered. As a way of encouraging Disney Dreamlight Valley players to come back to the game every day, not all five Sea Turtles are active at once. Even then, there are some that only appear at certain hours. For example a Black Sea Turtle only appears between the hours of 10 AM to 4 PM local time. Other kinds like the Brown Sea Turtle are available all day when they are active.
What to Feed Sea Turtles
When encountering Sea Turtles, Disney Dreamlight Valley players should feed them Seaweed as it is their favorite food. If players don't have any Seaweed, it won't be too difficult to get some as Seaweed is easily found when fishing at Dazzle Beach. There are no other foods that Sea Turtles will eat, so players should not bother trying to give them anything else.
If players try to feed animals the wrong food, the animal will reject it and players will be unable to talk to the animal until the next day. So Disney Dreamlight Valley players should make sure to not accidentally feed them the wrong item like scallops or any other item. As mentioned above, the prompt to interact with animals doesn't always work, so it can take several attempts to successfully open the menu to select a gift. Sea Turtles will occasionally hide in their shell when players approach. Leaving and then slowly approaching once they emerge can allow players to interact with the Sea Turtle.
What Happens When Sea Turtles Are Fed
Just like with other animals, when Disney Dreamlight Valleyplayers give a delicious gift to Sea Turtles they get a little thank-you gift. Sometimes it is an herb or similar kind of ingredient, but occasionally critters will spawn a bag containing a new motif. Motifs are designs that can be applied to clothing with the Magic Tool. Disney Dreamlight Valley players should be aware that repeatedly feeding critters every day when they are encountered eventually adds that critter to their collection tab.
Once the critter has been added to the collection tab they can follow the player around. If players already have an Animal Companion, they will need to switch it out if they want to be followed by their new friend.
