Disney Dreamlight Valley has an extensive recipe collection for players to learn as they progress through the game. There are several ways to learn new recipes, players can find them when digging up grass mounds, doing more quests, exploring NPC's houses, and experimenting with different ingredients.

How To Make Hearty Salad
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, cooking recipes have three types of ingredients. There are mandatory ingredients that can't be removed from a recipe otherwise it'll come out completely different, versatile ingredients that can be replaced by something else in the same category of ingredients, and unnecessary ingredients which are ingredients that are wasted and that add nothing to the recipe, and it would've ended up just the same without them.
Only three ingredients are necessary to make Hearty Salad lettuce (mandatory) and two vegetables of the player's choice. Once these ingredients have been collected, just like any food in the game it has to be made on the stove. There are more salads in the game, for example, Green Salad is an even simpler salad to make that only requires one vegetable and lettuce.
How To Gather The Ingredients
Lettuce seeds can be purchased from Goofy's Stall in Peaceful Meadow. They're one of the first seeds to be unlocked in the game. Players can purchase seeds from Goofy and then, using the shovel, they can dig a hole, place the seed inside, and water it with the Royal Watering Can. A lettuce seed takes three minutes to grow in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Those that would rather not wait can simply purchase lettuce at the Stall, however, this will significantly decrease the profit margin if the point is to sell the meal afterward.
