Merlin's notes are not more than a small piece of paper covered with feverish scribbles of the wizard. Some of the words written on the paper in fading handwriting are:

Players can find Merlin's notes in the Glade of Trust biome. But the region won't be accessible unless it is unlocked, and for that, players will need to spend 5,000 Dreamlight to clear the blockage and open the pathway.
Once that's done, embark on the journey of searching for Merlin's notes. Upon getting to the Glade of Trust, look around Mother Gothel's house. It is very likely that players will find the notes there.
Look for the small paper radiating golden light. Thanks to this bright golden light, the notes are pretty hard to miss. Once found, pick them up, get back to Merlin, and hand him the required notes.
What To Do After Collecting Merlin's Notes In Disney Dreamlight Valley
After players deliver the required notes to Merlin, the latter reveals that he suspects that Ursula and Mother Gothel are scheming something together as they have been meeting all around the village lately. Furthermore, he tells players that their next meeting is scheduled to take place in Glade of Trust tomorrow and asks them to overhear the conversation to learn more about the scheme. Therefore, players will have to head over there, overhear the conversation between Ursula and Mother Gothel, and talk to Ursula, who will explain that Mother Gothel only needed her help in dealing with pests in her home.
Lastly, players will have to tell Merlin about their discoveries, and that will complete the Secret and Schemes' quest for Merlin. Upon the completion of the quest, he will reward players with some Dreamlight.
