Disney Dreamlight Valley is still in early access, but there are plenty of hints scattered throughout the valley about what might be added in future updates. A great example of this is the Elephant Graveyard, an area which was functionally empty when the game first went into early access but that now houses Scar in Dreamlight Valley's first update. Looking to the future, players have noticed a mysterious, vacant, pumpkin-shaped house in the Forgotten Lands. Who will reside in this house remains a mystery, but fans have come up with a few theories that are worth investigating.

All of the characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley are from either Disney or Pixar, meaning there are no Star Wars and Marvel characters just yet. That said, there are some trends about the characters that are currently in the game that might help narrow down who this pumpkin-dwelling villager might be. The game's characters are also all animated characters, meaning for the time being it's safe to rule out live action characters. Even with these restrictions, there are still plenty of potential candidates for who could live in the Forgotten Lands' pumpkin house.

Disney Dreamlight Valley - Cinderella's Fairy Godmother

While any number of characters may end up taking residence in the pumpkin house, the most likely option seems to be the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella. This character is well-known for turning a pumpkin into a carriage in her film of origin, and the decor on the actual house lends itself well to being the abode of a fairy. In fact, it's difficult to think of what else a house for the Fairy Godmother might look like. Finally, the Forgotten Lands are plagued by cursed green fires, and the Fairy Godmother seems like the perfect magical character to teach players how to remove it.

This theory definitely has a lot going for it, but on the other hand, the Forgotten Lands where the pumpkin house is located don't seem like the most inviting home for the Fairy Godmother. This character is typically cheery and is associated exclusively with good, so it could be seen as a strange choice to make her live here in what is easily the darkest and creepiest area within Dreamlight Valley. Still, the Fairy Godmother is a very strong candidate for the potential resident of the pumpkin house.

Disney Dreamlight Valley - Jack Skellington the Pumpkin King

If players look past the cheerful decoration of the house and instead turn their gaze to the creepy surroundings, this house could actually be a great fit for Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Fans of the film will recall Jack's title, the "Pumpkin King," and see how it could make sense to have Jack live in a giant pumpkin here in the Forgotten Lands. He would certainly feel at home in the dark and bleak final realm of Dreamlight Valley.

The most obvious evidence against this being Jack Skellington's house is simply its decoration. The pumpkin is decked out with flowers and has the cutest windows to boot, so it doesn't have much in comming with the scariest resident of Halloween Town. Many players have also pointed out that Jack already has an iconic house from the films, and more than a few players would be disappointed if they couldn't build a replica of it in their own valley. Finally, Nightmare Before Christmas is a perfect movie to have a realm based off of it in Dreamlight Castle, and players may end up recruiting Jack Skellington in this manner.

Disney Dreamlight Valley - Cinderella

Using the same train of thought that led players to picture the Fairy Godmother living in the pumpkin house, Cinderella from the aptly named Cinderella film is another potential owner of the home. Though the Fairy Godmother may have used her magic to create the pumpkin carriage, it was Cinderella that rode it to the ball. The imagery of a giant pumpkin is closely associated with Cinderella, so it isn't a stretch by any means to say that she might be the one living in the Forgotten Realms' giant pumpkin. There's lots of Cinderella clothes in Dreamlight Valley already too.

Some of the same issues apply here as well. The Forgotten Lands hardly seem like a fitting place for Cinderella to live, even if she is used to less than ideal living conditions thanks to her time in her step-mother's house. Perhaps more damaging to this theory is the fact that Cinderella lives in the iconic Disney Castle itself. Disney Dreamlight Valley has shown it isn't shy about giving characters like Eric a castle to live in, so it may be that Cinderella will live inside her all too recognizable castle rather than a pumpkin.

Disney Dreamlight Valley - Maleficent

One final character that may end up inhabiting the giant pumpkin is the evil Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. While the pumpkin admittedly makes little sense for Maleficent, the entire area of the Forgotten Lands seems directly inspired by this dastardly villain. The dead trees, green flames, Dreamlight Valley's new raven companions, and the generally dark atmosphere all scream Maleficent. Another thing to consider is that every villain in the game so far has been found already living in the valley. Ursula was trapped in her cave, Mother Gothel sealed behind a curse in the Glade of Trust, and Scar stuck behind a large rock in the Sunlit Plateau.

Even with that evidence, it's difficult to imagine this being the home of Maleficent. It's still very likely that she will be a resident of the Forgotten Lands in some other capacity, however. Taking stock of all these options, the Fairy Godmother still looks to be the most likely character. That said, Disney Dreamlight Valley is still in early access, and the developers could theoretically pull anything out of their sleeves. All that remains to do now is wait and see what comes in future updates. The Toy Story realm is coming on December 6th, so players will definitely have to wait until at least 2023 to know for certain who lives in this pumpkin house.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is in early access now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
