The latest update to Disney Dreamlight Valley brings fans to a new realm based off of Toy Story, but the music accompanying this realm is grating and barely resembles the iconic soundtrack to the film. Highly anticipated characters such as Buzz and Woody are fantastic additions to the game, but great music is one of Disney's many charms, so it seems like a strange choice that this song sounds so unsettling. Thankfully, there is a way to fix the music in the Toy Story realm, and players can also rest easy knowing that it actually isn't a bug or anything of the sort.

As Disney Dreamlight Valley players explore the various biomes and realms found within the valley, they'll be accompanied by music inspired by films, characters, and themes that fans of the game are sure to love. Going to Moana's realm, for example, players are greeted with an interesting arrangement of "How Far I'll Go." Likewise, the Toy Story realm features an arrangement of "You've Got A Friend In Me," but it is far from pleasing to listen to.

When players first step foot into the new Toy Story realm, they are likely to notice one of two things. The first thing players might notice is how giant everything around them is, or rather how small they are. The player's character is shrunk down to the size of a toy, creating an interesting perspective that players didn't get even when visiting Remy's realm in Dreamlight Valley. The next thing that players will likely notice is that the beloved Toy Story soundtrack is being butchered before their very ears, sounding off in unnerving, dissonant variations of the familiar tune.

How to Fix the Music in Toy Story Realm

Fixing this is actually quite simple. All players need to do is head up the nearby ramp to find Buzz Lightyear waiting for the player. Talking to him reveals that his batteries are low, and this is causing him to act strangely. Players simply need to search the room for two batteries and bring them back to Buzz. After doing this, Buzz will go back to normal once again, and along with him, the music will settle down into the nostalgic track that players likely expected to hear. This is also the start of the new quest Secret Missions in Uncharted Space and will lead players to recruit both Buzz and Woody for their valley.

While the modified version of the song no doubt caught players off guard, it shows that Disney Dreamlight Valley isn't afraid to take risks. What many players may have thought was an audio glitch, or a poor design decision ends up actually tying into the story in a unique way, similar to the missing fish in the Sunlit Plateau.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is in early access now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
