The upcoming Disney Dreamlight Valley DreamSnaps Update will add photography contests, and the first challenge has already been teased. Disney Dreamlight Valley will go free-to-play soon, which means that money will be generated mostly through microtransactions in the future. The in-game currency is called Moonstones, and they can be used to purchase a wide variety of in-game items and packs. Since the game is still in early access, some fans believe that it wasn't the right move to add microtransactions before Disney Dreamlight Valley's full launch. When Moonstones became available as an in-game purchase, it generated an uproar in the community. Gamers were taken aback by the ridiculous Moonstones prices in Disney Dreamlight Valley. On top of this, players were even more shocked when the Premium Shop was added and they noticed how many Moonstones were required to purchase cosmetic items. For example, a house skin costs 3,750 Moonstones, which is worth around $15. Of course, these are elaborate skins from popular Disney or Pixar movies, but they're purely cosmetic. Some fans even started comparing Gameloft to EA, mentioning that The Sims packs might be overpriced, but at least there's more content to them.RELATED: Surprising Image Compares Sims 4 and Disney Dreamlight Valley DLC PricesPerhaps in response to the backlash regarding Moonstone prices and the high cost of these premium in-game items, Disney Dreamlight Valley recently announced that gamers would be able to earn free Moonstones on a weekly basis by participating in a photography competition available to the entire community. This feature will be added to the game when the upcoming DreamSnaps Update is released, and in order to get fans excited about this new feature, the official Disney Dreamlight Valley Twitter account has given a hint regarding the first week's challenge theme by posting a crown emoji and a castle emoji and asking gamers to figure out what the theme will be.

Disney Dreamlight Valley fans immediately started trying to figure out what could be coming. Many speculated that they would have to take a picture in front of the Castle near the Plaza. Those who feel confident in this guess can even start preparing the perfect scenario for the picture once DreamSnaps is live.

The update is expected soon, especially since the developers started teasing it heavily over the past week, but the actual release date and time still haven't been revealed. On the bright side, this gives gamers time to get everything ready for Wreck-It Ralph's Vanellope to join the roster of available characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
