Disney Dreamlight Valley's new content update brought even more things for players to do in their titular valleys, including the addition of another villain, Scar from Lion King, and more quests. One of these quests, given to the player by the aforementioned lion, requires players to create a new recipe called Extra Fizzy Root Beer, but to do so, players will need to get their hands on some Dried Ginger. Finding this new ingredient can be a bit tricky, and that's because it isn't truly a new ingredient at all, but rather a quest item.

Ginger is already an ingredient in Dreamlight Valley, even before the update added Scar and recipes such as Root Beer that use the spice. Dried Ginger, on the other hand, is a quest item that can only be obtained once and is only needed once, specifically for the story quest called "Nature and Nurture."

Where To Find Ginger

Instead of running to Dreamlight Valley's final area, the Forgotten Lands, where regular Ginger grows, players are going to need to venture deep into the Vitalys Mines to find Dried Ginger for the quest. The mines are confusing, but they aren't terribly large. With enough determination, players should be able to navigate through them and explore everything they have to offer. Towards the end of the mines, players will find a mining camp with some tables, chairs, logs, and, most notably, a green chest. Open this green chest to get the Dried Ginger as well as the Crackling Candy needed to continue the quest.

Dried Ginger can be found in a chest near this camp.

For those that don't want the hassle of searching the mines, this is the quickest way to the chest containing the Dried Ginger. Immediately upon entering the mines, head down the tunnel to the left. Turn right and use the Royal Pickaxe to clear some rocks out of the way. From here, follow the rails, clearing Night Thorns as necessary until reaching a four-way intersection. Do not turn left or right; instead, continue following the rails straight forward. Here, the track will fork off in two directions, stay left and continue down the path. Pass the mine carts on the ground, and the chest should be straight ahead.

All that's left now is to go tell Merlin about the player's discoveries and make the Extra Fizzy Root Beer. This recipe is identical to the new Dreamlight Valley Root Beer recipe but uses Dried Ginger instead of regular Ginger. Cook up the crazy concoction and return to the camp. This time, head up the hill, and players will find a barrel where they can use both the Extra Fizzy Root Beer and the Crackling Candy.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
