According to the DreamSnaps update patch notes, Disney Dreamlight Valley players won't be able to use Touch of Magic tool creations in the upcoming weekly photography challenges. The Disney Dreamlight Valley DreamSnaps update release date is July 19. At that point, players will have the opportunity to help Vanellope from Wreck-It Ralph move into the valley, and they'll also be able to try out the new DreamSnaps features to participate in weekly competitions.

The Disney Dreamlight Valley update is named after the DreamSnaps feature, which indicates its relevance for the future of the game. Since this is a community-wide challenge that allows gamers to participate and vote for their favorite entries, it's actually considered the first multiplayer element in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap mentioned that gamers would get multiplayer functionality in 2023. DreamSnaps is definitely a step in the right direction, and hopefully more features will be included in the September update.

Thanks to social media, quite a few details have already been shared with the community regarding the DreamSnaps challenges that are coming in the new update. A new challenge will arrive each week, and as long as they participate or vote, gamers will be able to earn free Moonstones as well as clothes and furniture. The DreamSnaps update patch notes revealed a detail that might alarm some competitors: clothes and furniture created with the upgraded Touch of Magic tool cannot appear in DreamSnaps submissions.

With the launch of The Remembering update, the last major Disney Dreamlight Valley update, the Touch of Magic tool was upgraded, and it now works on furniture as well as clothing items. Given that DreamSnaps challenges will have a theme, having the ability to make custom furniture and outfits that would fit the theme would open up an entire world of possibilities. Oddly enough, when fans of the game heard about these news, many of them weren't upset because they felt like it could be unfair for this feature to be allowed in the competition as it could provide an advantage for gamers that use it more regularly.

The first DreamSnaps challenge will be available soon, and some players have already started preparing their valleys for it. The Disney Dreamlight Valley Twitter account gave a hint on its theme, and it seems fans will have to take a picture related to the castle in the valley.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available in early access on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
