How to Start Does Not Compute in DDV
Players have to fulfill the following prerequisites to unlock the Does Not Compute quest: Complete the Sunken Ruins quest for Merlin. Unlock EVE and all biomes of Eternity Isle.
How to Complete Does Not Compute in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Talk to EVE
In the Sunken Ruins quest, you helped Merlin restore access to the temple. Inside, you discovered an ancient computer in a chamber, which Merlin asked you to investigate with the help of EVE. So to start this quest, you have to talk to EVE.
Finding Ancient Artifacts for Ancient Processor
According to EVE, she can only hack the computer in the Ruins with the help of an Ancient Processor. So, she gives the player a map showing the pieces of processors located in different areas of Eternity Isle. Players need to go to their inventory, open the map, and find each part of the processor.
Ancient Dictionary Location
After the conversation, make your way to Gaston's Camp located in the Glittering Dunes biome. You will see a big rock near the stove in his camp. Use your pickaxe to smash it and find the Ancient Dictionary.
Ancient Power Sphere Location
Now, it's time for the players to search for the Ancient Power Sphere. To do this, you will have to travel to the Grasslands area in the Wild Tangle biome. Once there, go to the waterfalls, pass beyond the giant door, and look for the Ancient Power Sphere to the left of the Sundial. Once found, simply dig up the sparkling area to collect the Ancient Power Sphere.
Ancient Slate Location
Now, players need to go to The Ruins region of Ancient’s Landing. Once there, look for golden bubbles in the water near EVE’s home. Take out your fishing rod and aim at those bubbles to get the Ancient Slate.
Ancient Processor Crystal Location
This component is also found in the Ruins area of Ancient’s Landing. To get it, look for sparkling soil near the statue and the Hologram station and use your Royal Shovel.
Ancient Processor Blueprint Location
To get the Ancient Processor Blueprint, go to the secret room behind the waterfall near EVE’s house, the same location where you found the Robotic outfit chest during the Flying Metal Nuisance quest. Once there, equip your Royal Hourglass and find the Ancient Processor Blueprint.
Repair The Ancient Processor
After collecting all five pieces of the processor, you can quickly repair them at the Timebending Table. Once done, head back to EVE and talk to her again. Upon talking to her, you will find out that she is not able to connect with the processor yet, so your next step is to go to her home and take pictures of different objects to understand how she works.
Take Photos in EVE’s Home
Something round with the holes is the cactus-like plant on the table. It’s the same plant that you fed with Gourmet Grubs in EVE’s Directive: Plant mission. The next item is some sort of power output, which is the holographic screen next to her bed. The last item on the list is some glassy globes, which represent her lamps hanging from the ceiling.

Crafting the Universal Adapter
Now that you have captured the images of the listed items inside EVE's home, it is time for you to craft the Universal Adapter for EVE. For this, the players are required to find and gather the following items:
- 10 x Oasis Glass
- 15 x Plastic Scrap
- 15 x Copper
- 3 x Mechanical Parts
- 2 x Brass Ingot.
- Oasis Glass
Oasis glasses can be obtained by digging anywhere in Glittering Dunes. Simply take out your shovel and start digging randomly.
- Plastic Scrap
To get Plastic Scrap, go to any water body in Eternity Isle, equip your fishing rod, and cast your line in open water. Don’t aim at water bubbles, as you'll only catch fish that way.
- Copper
Mine rock spots using the pickaxe anywhere on Eternity Isle to get this item.
- Mechanical Parts
They are made from 1 x bronze ingot and 1 x brass ingot. Four copper, one tin, and one coal ore are used to create a bronze ingot, and three copper, two zinc, and one coal ore are required to make a brass ingot.
- Brass Ingot
As mentioned above, it can be crafted using three copper, two zinc, and one coal ore. Zinc is found in Wild Tangle, while copper and coal can be found throughout Eternity Isle.
Once Dreamers have collected the required items, they need to go to any crafting station to make the Universal Adapter. After crafting, deliver the adaptor to EVE. Now that she is equipped with the adaptor, she will be able to communicate with the computer. This will complete the Does Not Compute quest.
