Disney Dreamlight Valley offers players different ways to interact with the world around them. One of the most important of these systems is fishing, which allows players to catch a number of different species. These fish and crustaceans play an important role in Disney Dreamlight Valley's recipes and cooking mechanics.

Some of these fish can be challenging to track down, with even some out of reach for players that haven't unlocked particular biomes. This is the case for the game's Kingfish. For those Disney Dreamlight Valley players looking to find the Kingfish and learn how best to use it, this guide is here to help.

Where to Find a Kingfish in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

The Kingfish is described as a mackerel found in warmer ocean waters by the game, and that should lead players to one of the first biomes they can unlock: Dazzle Beach. This can be unlocked for 1,000 of Disney Dreamlight Valley's Dreamlight currency and is directly south and east of the Peaceful Meadow. In this area, players need to fish in only the blue bubbles that appear in order to catch a Kingfish. The best time to catch a Kingfish is in the evening, which can be a bit difficult, considering the game syncs with a player's local time.

What to Use a Kingfish for in Disney Dreamlight Valley?

The Kingfish, much like any fish in the game, can provide players with an immediate replenishment of energy. This species can provide a minimum of 800 energy if players eat it raw, which ranks third among all the catchable species on the coast of Dazzle Beach. Energy plays an important role in Disney Dreamlight Valley and is required for performing almost any action. For those looking for Star Coins, the Kingfish can be sold for 450, which also ranks third among the same species, just behind the Fugu and Swordfish.

Aside from these base stats, there is one meal that specifically calls for the Kingfish as part of its recipe. This is the Sweet and Sour Kingfish Steak, an entree that replenishes a minimum of 2,292 energy and can be sold for 702 Star Coins but requires a single Kingfish, a Lemon, and a Sugarcane.

Lemons grow on trees in the Forest of Valor (3,000 Dreamlight to unlock) and the Glade of Trust (5,000 Dreamlight), while Sugarcane can be purchased at Goofy's Stall at Dazzle Beach. Aside from that entree, Kingfish can be used for any of the meals in Disney Dreamlight Valley that require a fish ingredient.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
