With the Scar Update live in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players have lots of new content to enjoy. Aside from the story update associated with Scar, there is a whole new set of friendship quests involving him as well. Just like with other Disney characters, players will need to increase their friendship level with Scar to unlock the friendship quests.

While this does take some time to do, it is worth it since completing Scar's friendship quests rewards more than just cosmetic items. Completing Breaking Bones allows players to remove some of the bones scattered across the Sunlit Plateau, and here is a guide for how to complete that friendship quest.

At the start of the quest, Scar will suggest that Disney Dreamlight Valley players should go speak to Scrooge. When players talk to Scrooge he will give them the Mold that is needed to upgrade their shovel. After receiving the Mold, return to Scar to advance the quest.

Gather the Materials

Scar begrudgingly tells Disney Dreamlight Valley players what they need to gather some materials in order to use the Mold and upgrade their shovel. Players will need to obtain five Iron Ingots, five Dry Wood, and five Lion's Claws. Iron Ingots can be crafted with five Iron Ore and one Coal, so players will need 25 Iron Ore and five Coal to make all the Iron Ingots needed. The Dry Wood is a white colored stick that can be found in the Forgotten Lands, the Frosted Heights, and the Sunlit Plateau.

The final ingredient, Lion's Claws, is a unique resource that only appears during this quest. Lion's Claws can be found only along the bottom of the cliff between the Sunlit Plateau and the Forgotten Lands. Disney Dreamlight Valley players will need to use their shovels to dig up the glowing spots on the ground to obtain Lion's Claws. Players should be aware that these digging spots can also still spawn Dream Shards and Night Shards during this quest, so it may take time to find all the Lion's Claws.

Craft the Lion's Claw Shovel Head

Once all the materials have been gathered, Disney Dreamlight Valley players will need to go to a crafting station. The Lion's Claw Shovel Head is listed underneath the 'Potion & Enchantment' tab. Once the Lion's Claw Shovel Head has been crafted, players will need to find it in their inventory and use it to upgrade their shovel just like when upgrading other tools like the pickaxe.

Remove Some Bones

Once their shovel has been upgraded, Disney Dreamlight Valley players will need to go talk to Scar. He suggests testing out the shovel by removing some wildebeest bones. In order to advance the quest, players will need to use the shovel to remove five bones. Once this has been done, players simply have to talk to Scar and the quest will be completed.

While completing this quest allows players to remove some of the bones, they will still not be able to do anything about the large bones that block off half of the Sunlit Plateau. In order to deal with the larger piles of wildebeest bones, players will need to complete the next friendship quest with Scar.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
