Starting the Purple Potato Secret Quest
To acquire the unique Purple Potato in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must take a different approach than just accepting a regular quest. Instead, they need to explore and locate hidden objects to retrieve the clues needed to obtain the Purple Potato.
Players should make their way to the Frozen Heights biome and visit the cave with the door adorned with Atlantis-themed runic writing. This cave is notable as the place where players initially encountered Olaf, the adorable snowman, during the quest "The Great Blizzard" which eventually unlocks him as a resident of the valley.
Upon completing the quest series, the player acquires the orb necessary to cleanse the Frozen Heights' pillar after activating a Dark Portal located at the rear of the cave. Interestingly, this portal now contains yet another peculiar item: the Purple Potato.
Inside the cave, players have the opportunity to interact with the Dark Portal once again. The Dark Portal will prompt the player to speak ten correct words each from a selection of four possible choices. Once the player successfully recites the correct responses, the Purple Potato emerges from the portal and can be collected.

How to Craft the Royal Purple Potion
Once the player has obtained the Purple Potato, they will need to craft it into a magic potion, the Royal Purple Potion, just as they did with all the previously obtainable colored potatoes. To do so, simply head to any crafting station and click on the "Potion & Enchantment" tab. Find the recipe for the Royal Purple Potion, which requires just the Purple Potato and a single Empty Vial. Once the Royal Purple Potion has been crafted, it will appear as a quest item in the player's inventory where it will await being crafted into a special new potion that solves the puzzle of the potatoes once and for all.
