Disney Dreamlight Valley's winter season is chock-full of holiday cheer and rich with activities and opportunities for players to earn unique holiday rewards. This holiday season features special, limited-time tasks for players, including special seasonal duties and a holiday-themed Star Path. During this time, the Valley is subject to a few changes that players will notice to mark the start of the period during which they can complete secret holiday duties for exclusive rewards.

There are two major changes that indicate the holidays have arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley. First, red wrapping paper will spawn and can be gathered in the Valley’s Plaza biome, used to wrap up gifts for residents and complete the task “Ho Ho Ho!.” Additionally, special red-and-green fishing pools featuring seasonal-exclusive fish will appear in specific biomes throughout the Valley.

When Can Festive Fish Be Caught in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Festive Fishing Pool in Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are a total of five Festive fish that players can catch during the holiday season in Disney Dreamlight Valley. These fish are available only between December 18 to December 31; outside this period, the festive pools will not spawn, and the fish cannot be caught.

Players can catch only one of each Festive fish. A single red-and-green pool will appear in each fish's respective biome, but only if the player hasn't already caught the Festive fish from that biome in a previous year. These fish serve no purpose beyond being caught to complete the duty.

In Disney Dreamlight Valley, each of the five Festive fish resides in a unique biome and can be caught only from the special red-and-green pool specific to each location. Again, the red-and-green pool will not spawn in a biome if the player has already caught that location’s festive fish, even if during a previous year's event. Below are the details of where each Festive Fish can be located.

Where to Find Festive Fugu

The Festive Fugu can be caught in the red-and-green pool that spawns in Dazzle Beach biome and only while it is raining.

Where to Find Festive Squid

The Festive Squid can be caught in the red-and-green pool that spawns in the Glade of Trust biome.

Where to Find Festive Salmon

The Festive Salmon can be caught in the red-and-green pool that spawns in the Sunlit Plateau biome.

Where to Find Festive Anglerfish

The Festive Anglerfish can be caught in the red-and-green pool that spawns in the Forgotten Lands biome and only between the hours of 6:00 PM and 5:00 AM local time.

Where to Find Festive Bass

The Festive Salmon can be caught in the red-and-green pool that spawns in the Peaceful Meadow biome.

How to Complete “Even the Fish Are Festive” Holiday Duty

Checking progress on Even Fish Are Festive! in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The seasonal duty “Even Fish Are Festive!” requires the player to catch one of each of the five Festive Fish in Disney Dreamlight Valley. If the player does not catch all five festive fish during the event, they will have to wait until next year to have another chance at completing this duty. Completing “Even Fish Are Festive” rewards the player with a delightful Santa Hat they can wear year-round.

Any Festive Fish caught counts towards the completion of "Even Fish Are Festive!" and progress will carry over to the following year. The red-and-green pools of fish they have already caught will not spawn in the following year; only those for fish which were not previously caught will become available. Therefore, the player will be able to catch whichever fish they did not catch during the previous year's event.

Players can check their progress in this seasonal duty within the "Village" category of the Dreamlight duties tab, but the duty will not show which fish they still need to catch. Instead, they should check the "Fish" category in the Dreamlight Valley section of the Collection tab.
