The magic of Disney Dreamlight Valley looks set to continue in 2024 with a confirmed roadmap covering free updates for players as well as the continuation of Disney Dreamlight Valley's first paid expansion, A Rift in Time, which expanded Dream Castle's walls to new places with the introduction of Ancient's Landing, Glittering Dunes, and Wild Tangle biomes in Eternity Isle.

December 2023's Pumpkin King Returns free update enabled players to bring a new resident to the Valley in the form of the infamous Jack Skellington, and 2024 is adding more Disney character villagers and realms. A Rift in Time is also just beginning, with its introduction paving the way for players to explore new locations in different ways by using a new Royal Tool, the Hourglass. What To Expect From Disney Dreamlight Valley's 2024 Free Content Roadmap

New Disney Characters

Disney Dreamlight Valley's 2024 free content roadmap looks set to offer players a host of updates at no extra cost following Jack Skellington's arrival, including three confirmed characters: Mike and Sully from Monsters Inc. and, in Summer 2024, Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, as unveiled in December 2023's Disney Dreamlight Valley Showcase video. Here, the developers teased that players are baking in preparation, suggesting unlocking Disney Dreamlight Valley's Beignets recipe could be significant as one of Tiana's signature dishes, and with the roadmap also confirming 'new culinary delights.' Although no further details are available, it's likely Tiana's arrival could bring a stack of new recipes to the Valley inspired by New Orleans cuisine or from dishes seen in The Princess and the Frog movie, especially with community-spirited Gumbo recipe from Tiana's father already in the game.

New Realms

It's also confirmed that Monsters Inc. is the first new realm player can visit in 2024, with new arrivals Mike and Sully in early 2024. While unconfirmed, the free content roadmap also teases a possible Mulan-themed realm, with all the possible Dynasty-related characters that could potentially be added. The developers also added that each update will bring players a new Disney Dreamlight Valley Star Path, but how these will be themed is yet to be announced. Given the free content plan currently only reaches the Summer, there will likely be even more free content to look forward to afterward.

What To Expect From Disney Dreamlight Valley's Expansion Pass Roadmap In 2024

Looking ahead to Disney Dreamlight Valley's paid Expansion Pass roadmap for 2024, players can expect to continue the story surrounding Jafar and the mystery of the Forgetting in Spring's "The Spark of Imagination" and Summer's "Treasures of Time Spring" updates within the current A Rift in Time expansion. Although purely speculative, these updates will likely bring more biomes and areas to explore closer to the Sultan's Palace. This will also probably provide ample opportunity to introduce more villagers to the Valley from many players' Disney Dreamlight Valley future character wish list, most likely from Aladdin, such as Jasmine, Genie, Abu, and the titular hero himself.

A Rift in Time currently takes players to Summer 2024, so it remains to be seen what lies ahead regarding paid expansions after this point. However, A Rift in Time also made many new additions, including time-themed tools and mini-games like Scramblecoin, so time will tell what other delights await players next.
