Dishonored is an action-adventure title created by Arkane Studios with a lot of stories to it that allowed the game to continue as a successful franchise. Starting at the beginning with the original Dishonored that released in 2012, players took on the role of Corvo as he adventured through the plague-ridden streets of Dunwall, a city ripe with industrialization.

With the help of a revolutionist group, Corvo and his new allies attempt to take back Dunwall from its growing corruption. Players will not only have their own skills to rely on, but also the powers gifted to Corvo by the mysterious entity known as The Outsider. These are by far the most useful skills that players will rely on again and again while marking their prey.

8 Increased Health With Vitality

Although not an active power that players will use to defend themselves in combat Vitality is an essential and cheap passive supernatural ability players will most likely be relying on when accidentally stumbling into intense battles.

At the first tier this will only increase Corvo's health by a fraction which can be useful if a player decides to go for a more violent playthrough. This power can be improved further as by upgrading it to the second tier, players don't only get more health but also regenerate their health quicker allowing them to take on more direct hits without worry.

7 Take Possession Of Animals

When attempting to take a stealthy approach to surviving in Dunwall then being able to possess animals is a great way to get around. Corvo can transport his mind and in someway his entire body into the creatures of Dunwall such as rats and fish in order to sneak past guards or squeeze through areas he couldn't before.

By upgrading the ability to the second tier, Corvo can go as far as possessing bigger targets such as humans in order to walk around in their skin unnoticed. However, this is by far one of the most expensive abilities available and therefore a player should be cautious when using it.

6 Look Out For Danger With Dark Vision

Continuing on the theme of keeping quiet and taking a stealthy approach in Dishonored, another great power players should consider using is Dark Vision. This ability gifted to Corvo by The Outsider allows him to track the vision cones of enemies as well as mark any noises he himself is making.

This allows players to stay out of sight of those that may mean them harm as well as being able to get the drop on unsuspecting foes. Upgrading this ability to the second tier can make it the power even more useful as it highlights other objects that Corvo may be interested in examining.

5 Bend Time To Avoid Attacks

While being the most expensive supernatural ability to use. Bend Time is also incredibly useful for both players focusing on a stealth or aggressive playthrough as Bend Time allows the player to do exactly that by slowing down the situation around them while they remain the same speed.

By upgrading the ability further players can stop time entirely but for a shorter amount of time. Though this does mean that players don't need to worry about dodging out the way of things and can simply go about unnoticed as long as they are quick.

4 Remain Hidden With Shadow Kill

Returning to the ways of the shadow, another passive supernatural ability stealth players will find handy is Shadow Kill. By unlocking this power for Corvo when he assassinates a guard or other unsuspecting foe, their body will turn to ash, never to be seen again.

Unlocking this ability completely removes the need to hide bodies which can be quite difficult to do in the first place depending on where a foe has been slain. The second tier of the perk can be unlocked, although it is unnecessary, this allows Shadow Kill to make a body turn to ash whether the enemy was alerted to Corvo's presence or not.

3 Devouring Swarm Takes Care Of Bodies

The Devouring Swarm power symbol in Dishonored

Its horrific name of Devouring Swarm is not the only grotesque thing about this ability that can be wielded by Corvo. During the first tier of the ability players can summon a swarm of rats to attack groups of enemies. Depending on the situation this can be used as a distraction or a way to dispose a large group of enemies without giving away the player's position.

Upgrading it to the second tier will increase the size of the swarm making it much more likely to survive bigger groups of enemies as well as disposing of their bodies a lot quicker. Although players may not wish to stick around to find out.

2 Windblast Knocks Foes Aside

For those looking for abilities that allows them to be more aggressive in face to face combat, then the likes of Windblast may be of interest to them. Corvo is able to conquer a forceful gust of wind that can be used to push people or objects backwards.

At the first tier this may not seem as effective due to the lack of damage it does to foes, however upgrading it to the second tier will put more power behind the wind Corvo can cast. By now slamming foes into the walls by using Windblast this will knock them out permanently.

The Blink power symbol in Dishonored

Although the cheapest ability for players to possess in Dishonored, Blink is by far one of the best powers for players to use no matter what kind of playthrough they are hoping to achieve. Blink allows Corvo to quickly close distances as well as teleport to higher areas.

The second tier of Blink allows players to teleport from even further of a distance meaning eventually no ledge or rooftop will be out of reach for the player. Players may use this ability to sneak past or find a vantage point to take their foes by surprise.
