All Confirmed Features for Disgaea 7

Disgaea 7 is coming out in just a few weeks and will introduce several new features like exploration and Jumbification to the storied franchise.

It’s a small change, but it does feel like a breath of fresh air for the series. Of the many gameplay systems in Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless, players can eventually unlock a shop that sells skills. Some of these skills are called Evilities and they can grant huge boosts in power. Here are the eight types to focus on in the game.

8 Character Unique Evilities

Cheerful Aura Evility in Disgaea 7

Every character, no matter if they are a generic RPG class or not, will have unique Evilities prescribed to them. For example, one of the main characters, Pirilika, can learn the Cheerful Aura Evility. This will increase the chances that surrounding teammates will join in on a combo attack. Joint Attacks are a specialty in this series wherein nearby teammates can either boost attack power or join in to physically attack an opponent too. Not every character-specific Evility is as useful as Cheerful Aura, but they are something to keep in mind.

7 Study Lover

Study Lover Evility in Disgaea 7

The leveling-up system is fairly standard in Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless, as it is in most tactical RPGs. Characters that hit opponents will gain experience, and this applies to hitting allies with healing magic, too.

Study Lover is an easy way to increase how much EXP players learn, which will bump things up by 10%. There is an even greater Evility that will increase the EXP rates by 20% for characters under level 1,000. It’s called Precious Secret, and it’s great, but 5,000 Mana is a lot to spend on one skill early on like this.

6 HL Lover

HL Lover Evility in Disgaea 7

HL is the unique money system used in Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless and throughout the entire series. Procuring HL is about as difficult as grinding through levels toward the beginning of the game. There are a variety of ways to make money, but the easiest is by completing mini-quests on maps.

10 Best RPG Games Based On Anime

RPGs based on anime are few and far between. These titles are not only rare, but also rank among the best in their genre.

One example that pops up often is only deploying a set number of characters. Adhering to these guidelines will unlock HL, Mana, and EXP bonuses, along with items that can either be equipped or sold off. HL Lover can also help with the grind for HL as it will increase money output by 50%.

5 Fundamentals

Fundamentals Evility in Disgaea 7

Characters can gain skills through leveling up and by using weapons in battle. It’s been a standard for the series since day one, although functionality has been tweaked over the years. For example, Fuji is one of the main characters, and he uses swords as weapons as main RPG characters often do.

He can learn Fuji-specific sword abilities along with generic ones that all sword-wielders can get. Using a skill will earn that character Skill EXP, and Fundamentals is an Evility that will increase that gain by 10%, just like Study Lover.

4 Mana Lover

Mana Lover is a lot like HL Lover, except it will increase Mana's output by 50%. Mana is another type of currency in the game, and it is not a source of magic power akin to RPGs like Diablo. Characters will individually retain Mana, which they can spend on skill upgrades, at the Dark Assembly to propose new laws, and the list continues.

It’s an even more valuable resource than HL or even EXP, as Mana, especially within the Dark Assembly, can almost break the game. That’s part of the fun that fans have with this series, though.

3 Stat Buffs

Tough Guy Evility in Disgaea 7

Leveling up characters, as previously mentioned, is pretty standard in the game. Going from level one to two will increase stats like HP, defense, attack power, and so on. There are Evilities like Tough Guy, which will upgrade how much these randomized stats will increase by.

The Nintendo Switch features plenty of fantastic games. If you're looking for a great RPG, here's what this console has to offer.

Tough Guy will give characters 10% HP upon leveling up and Mean Guy will bump up attack power by 10% on level gains. These “Guy” Evilities can help players min-max stats in the game to get the best characters possible.

2 Vaccine

Vaccine Evility in Disgaea 7

HP and defensive boosts are great, but so are ways to prevent status ailments in RPGs. Standard RPG ailments include Poison, which decreases HP on every round for characters, as well as Sleep, which prevents the character from taking any actions.

There are defensive Evilities players can purchase, like Poison Vaccine, which will give that character complete immunity to Poison. Players could also just buy a Vaccine, which increases resistance to status ailments by 50%. Immunity is better, but having a Vaccine eliminates the need to use up as many Evility slots.

1 Weapon Tutors

Sword Tutor Evility in Disgaea 7

Main characters and characters created using the class system will have attributes for every type of weapon in the game. For example, Fuji excels at swords, with an A rank in the sword section. He also has a decent rating with gloves, which are graded as B, but his gun skills are set to D. Players can purchase Evilities to increase these weapon grades in case they decide to branch off with other types for whatever reason. Gun Tutor, for example, will change Fuji’s grade from D to C, which is about the average level of mastery. There is an Evility for every weapon in Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless.

Disgaea 7: Vows of the Virtueless was released on October 3, 2023, and is available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Switch.
