Another Capcom showcase came and went and fans are upset about the lack of a Dino Crisis related announcement. This holds especially true after the latest showcase featured Exoprimal, a game that's become more controversial among them with each showcase.Dino Crisis is one of the classic Capcom series that's been sorely lacking in new content. Year after year, fans of the series have anxiously waited for a series reboot or a remake of the original Dino Crisis, only to be met with disappointment as other franchises like Resident Evil and Ace Attorney get remakes, re-releases, and/or sequels. Not only that, but a new co-op action game featuring dinosaurs called Exoprimal has been making the rounds and is set to release on July 14.RELATED:Capcom is Releasing Another Ace Attorney CollectionThe most recent Capcom Showcase prominently featured another cinematic trailer for Exoprimal. The showcase included game director Takuro Hiraoka stating that feedback will be addressed in the form of a more PvE-focused experience. Of course, this didn't slip by the Dino Crisis fans who took to social media to vent their frustrations with the company for not even acknowledging Dino Crisis in what could be a very epic crossover with this game. That would at least be more thematically sensical than the upcoming Street Fighter crossover. Some other players have also pointed out the similarities between one of Exoprimal's characters and Regina, the Dino Crisis protagonist, while mourning the lack of new developments from this series.

Unfortunately, Dino Crisis fans will have to keep waiting for an announcement from Capcom as the showcase featured no sign of this legendary property. While Exoprimal seems like it's almost ready for its release, longtime fans of the horror franchise want to see more from the iconic series.

Still, fans will at least continue to have something to look forward to as some fans have taken the task of remaking the game, with some impressive videos showing how a Dino Crisis remake would look in Unreal Engine 5. If the interest for this series continues to thrive, they will still have content to enjoy while continuing to wait for an official announcement.

Dino Crisis is available on Dreamcast, PC, and PlayStation 1.
