Bandai Namco and B.B. Studio have released an impressive gameplay trailer for Digimon World: Next Order which is coming to PC and Nintendo Switch next year. The Digimon World series has been going strong since 1999, and the latest title Digimon World: Next Order, which is already available on PS4, is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC soon.

The trailer was posted to the Bandai Namco YouTube channel on December 16, and it gave Nintendo Switch and PC owners an idea of what they will experience when the game launches in February. Digimon World: Next Order is the sixth entry in the Digimon World series which has evolved over the years to keep up with the new features introduced with each season of the anime. Digimon Survive had a successful launch that had mixed user reviews when it was released earlier this year, and has brought new attention to the franchise which may migrate to Digimon World: Next Order when it branches out to the additional platforms.

Digimon World: Next Order recent gameplay video begins differently from the game's initial trailer as it shows protagonist Takuto falling into the digital world as the protagonists of Digimon have several times in the past. The clip then introduces the alternate playable character in the latest installment in the Digimon World series named Shiki, who mimics the confusion at the digital setting in the same tone as Takuto does. Sharing the same song that was featured in the first Digimon World: Next Order trailer for PS4, the gameplay trailer then shows an infected Machinedramon and the central hub of the game known as Floatia.

Players can collect a wide array of Digimon in Digimon World: Next Order based on the gameplay trailer that shows a DigiDestined walking around the wide open areas alongside Greymon, Garurumon, ExVeemon, Stingmon, Gatoman, and more. Fans will also expand Floatia as they progress through the story and will be able to meet NPCs introduced in the trailer such as Himari, Kouta, Luche, Mameo, and Shoma who each have their own unique personalities. Similar to the recently released Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players will also be able to battle to digivolve their favorite monsters into more powerful forms, and different Digimon eggs will hatch various creatures that provide their own specializations to a party.

As many Digimon fans expressed their excitement for Digimon World: Next Order coming to more platforms, others lamented a lack of DLC for the game after its launch. Pointing to the few bits of DLC that do exist, one player suggested that they'd try Digimon World: Next Order on Nintendo Switch or PC if it comes with the existing content, but it may just launch as the base version in February.

Digimon World: Next Order is available now for PS4 and will release for PC and Switch on February 22, 2023.
