Digimon Survive is an incredibly dark game when compared to some of its predecessors, both in terms of its narrative and its tone. Throughout the game, players will be faced with many big decisions, some of which can have devastating consequences on Takuma and his group of friends. In some cases, this could mean a character getting badly injured, while in others, they may even end up dead.

As a result of this, players are encouraged to think carefully about each decision that they make, particularly those where they're only presented with two options instead of the usual three. Unfortunately, however, it can be very difficult to predict how a simple decision like whether to agree with Shuuji or Minoru in Part 5 might impact the main story of Digimon Survive, leading to many players taking to the internet in search of answers.

Unlike some of the other big decisions in Digimon Survive, it makes no difference whether players choose Shuuji or Minoru in Part 5. Even if they agree with the former that the underground waterway is no place for Haru and Miyuki, Aoi and Minoru will almost immediately change Takuma's mind and the strange siblings will accompany the group on their dangerous mission despite the concerns of Shuuji and Takuma.

Given the rapid decline in his mental health and his terrible treatment of Lopmon, it would be perfectly understandable if Digimon Survive players opted to side with Minoru instead of Shuuji. Besides, there's perhaps a strong argument to be made that the kids are much safer with the group than they would be on their own at the school anyway, though whether or not this is actually the case remains to be seen.

Shortly after leaving the school, players will find themselves in a forest where Shuuji is once again at odds with the rest of the group. Both Minoru and Kaito will almost come to blows with the would-be leader, while Saki pulls no punches in her brutal assessment of his recent behavior. Despite this friction though, the group eventually arrives at the entrance to the underground waterway, where an incredibly potent mixture of danger and answers lies in wait for the troubled teenagers.

Digimon Survive is available on PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
