Together with Gabumon, Agumon is one of the most recognizable Digimon in the entire series. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that the little orange dinosaur serves as Takuma's Partner Digimon in Digimon Survive. It doesn't keep that form for the entire game though, with Agumon able to Digivolve into as many as 11 different Digimon in Digimon Survive.

RELATED: Every Digimon in Digimon Survive (& How to Befriend Them)

Due to the way that Digimon Survive's Karma system works, players will only be able to gain access to four of these forms on their first playthrough of the game. With each subsequent run though, they'll have a chance to unlock more of Agumon's Digivolutions, with the final one being exclusive to New Game+ mode.

Every Agumon Evolution in Digimon Survive

Agumon will evolve four times as part of Digimon Survive's main story, with its first evolution coming in the fight with Dokugumon at the end of Part 1. Its next two evolutions happen during parts five and nine respectively, with the final one coming towards the end of Part 11. However, just because the points when Agumon's evolutions take place are fixed, that doesn't mean that the forms that it will evolve into are completely set in stone.

The first three of Agumon's Digivolutions will depend on which of the player's Karma stats is highest when the evolution takes place, though players will get Omnimon regardless of their Karma score. It's also possible to unlock a special fifth evolution, Fanglongmon, though doing so will require players to keep everyone alive and then complete the Truthful route, unlocking the four other Heavenly Megas along the way.

Free Digimon Differences

For those who want to experience all nine of Agumon's Karma-based Digivolutions without having to play through the game multiple times, the good news is that they can all be befriended in Free Battles and random encounters if players are lucky enough to run into them. It's also possible to obtain them by befriending an Agumon and then Digivolving it using Enlightenment Slabs, though there are a few things for players to keep in mind when doing it this way.

A Free Agumon can be evolved into Cyclonemon, which, much like a Free Greymon or a Free Tyrannomon, will then be able to become SkullGreymon with the help of a Perfect Enlightenment Slab. Additionally, non-Partner SkullGreymon and MetalGreymon can both Digivolve into Spinomon, effectively giving Agumon a fourth Mega form that cannot be obtained by Takuma's Partner Agumon. With this in mind, players may want to consider seeking out this other form in order to further strengthen their teams.

Digimon Survive is available on PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
