When it comes to Digimon with distinct or unusual designs, few can compete with Etemon. The Puppet Digimon is one of the most recognizable creatures in Digimon Survive, not to mention a solid defensive unit for players who are looking to add a bit of bulk and durability to their teams.
Unfortunately, players will need to wait until around the halfway point of Digimon Survive to be able to befriend Etemon, though he can be obtained a little earlier through Digivolution. Given how hard to come by evolution items are before Part 6 though, most players will probably end up waiting in order to save their precious slabs.
How to Befriend Etemon in Digimon Survive
Those hoping to befriend Etemon will first need to start a conversation with him by selecting the Talk option. Upon doing so, they'll be faced with three questions or statements and must choose the best responses from the ones provided. Choosing the best response will fill up two sections of the bar above Etemon's head, and filling three or more by the time the conversation ends will give players a chance to ask the Digimon to become their friend.
As his sunglasses and Monzaemon belt buckle might suggest, Etemon is keen to promote his "cool guy" persona. With this in mind, players should go out of their way to flatter Etemon whenever possible, though should still make it clear that he is only number two when compared to them. Exploiting his vanity can make befriending Etemon incredibly easy, as too can using the best Etemon responses found in the table just below.

Where to Find Etemon in Digimon Survive
Like Monzaemon, players will only be given a brief window in which to befriend Etemon during Part 6. It's okay if they miss it though, as the Puppet Digimon will show up in just about every other part of Digimon Survive from Part 7 onwards, making him one of the game's most common Digimon. He can also appear in random shadow encounters too.
