Many Digimon fans have been patiently waiting for the arrival of the latest entry in the longstanding franchise, Digimon Survive. In it, players will need to make choices and partake in strategic turn-based battles with their trusty Digimon to get through 12 chapters.

While it may seem that Digimon Survive is mostly an action game, that's not quite the case. According to the development team, Digimon Survive is about 70% visual novel/text adventure and 30% tactical battles. Players will spend a lot of time speaking to characters, making decisions, and investigating objects in the environment. There are even multiple endings, with some of them leading to the death of specific characters.

So How Long is Digimon Survive?

For gamers wondering how long it'll probably take to finish a single playthrough of Digimon Survive, the answer is around 40 hours. We say single playthrough because, as mentioned previously, there are different routes players can take during the story, giving dedicated players an incentive to start a new game after seeing the credits roll for the first time.

That 40-hour game length can also increase or decrease depending on the difficulty level the game is set at. When players start a new game, they can choose from four options: Difficult, Normal, Easy, and Very Easy. As of the time of writing, it's not confirmed if players will be able to switch difficulty levels during their playthrough.

According to the dev team, it may take some Digimon Survive players up to 100 hours to complete all routes and see all the end content through.

How Many Chapters Does Digimon Survive Have?

The team has confirmed that there are 12 chapters in Digimon Survive. After players finish chapter 8, the game will split into three separate routes: Morality, Rage, and Harmony. Not much is known about what differs between all endings, but since the story of Digimon Survive is catered more towards adults, players should expect things to get heavy.

There will also be a new game plus mode for those that want to do more than one playthrough. As for what's carried over, the list is as follows:

Digimon Survive is available on PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
