In Diablo Immortal, players will typically find themselves fighting undead, ghosts, skeletons, and demons. However, players can also fight against other players. The most common method for this would be using the Westmarch Battlegrounds PvP area, but Clans will be able to look forward to Weekly battles with other Clans.

This battle between Dark Clans is called Shadow Wars and is the most strategic type of PvP that exists currently in Diablo Immortal. It takes more than just raw strength to win in these battles since the Clan Leader or Officer will typically assign each player a designated role in the Shadow War through messages or CR (Combat Rating) restrictions. This guide will teach players the best methods to attaining victory for their Clan.

Shadow Wars Requirements

Diablo Immortal

To participate in Shadow Wars, players must first be in a Dark Clan. When Clans are first created, they are considered Adventure Clans.

Once the Clan leader reaches level 43, they have the option to participate in the Shadow Lottery to have a chance at becoming a Shadow. Once the Clan Leader has become a Shadow, they will have the option to upgrade their Clan into a Shadow Clan after donating 5 Akeba's Signets to the Clan.

Akeba's Signets are earned from winning the Shadow Lottery, and all members can help fulfill this quota.

Once players have their Shadow Clan created, all existing members that are also level 43+ are automatically converted into Shadows without having to go through the trouble of winning the Shadow Lottery.

Main Battle

Diablo Immortal

Shadow Wars have 2-3 battles happening simultaneously, depending on where players were allocated before the Shadow War began.

The Main Battle has two sides to it, one where the Clan Leader will transform into an Immortal to defend themselves against the opposing Shadow Clan members. While this is happening, fellow Clan Members will also be fighting the enemy's Clan Leader, who also turned into an Immortal as well.

Although the Immortal will be extremely tough to take down, due to their high HP and powerful AoE abilities, players have infinite lives due to being able to respawn nearby, letting them have plenty of time to do their best to take down the enemy Immortal.

Players will want to have the majority of their participating Clan Members occupying the Main Battle, as it's the win condition of the Shadow War and takes way longer than the Support Battle to complete.

The best strategy here is to focus on putting most Classes that are exceptional at PvP in the Main Battle since the Immortal is very mobile and durable.

The best PvP Classes are Barbarian, Wizard, Necromancer, and Crusader. Most players using these respective Classes should try to be in the Main Battle for the highest chances of success.

Support Battle

Diablo Immortal

The Support Battle is very similar to the Main Battle. However, the core difference here is that it's not a win condition; instead, it provides Damage buffs to the respective Clan Leader Immortal.

Making the Clan Leader more powerful gives them an easier time fending off the opposing Clan's group of Shadows. The Support Battle itself is mechanically the same as the Main Battle. A group of Shadows has to fight against yet another Immortal but this Immortal is an NPC, rather than a player.

The player cap on each Support Battle is 30, whereas the Main Battle has no player cap. The best option when deciding on who to send to this battle would be to send the worst PvP Classes, which are Demon Hunter and Monk.

The battle won't be too hard for these classes either, since the Immortal won't be as mobile and difficult to deal with as the actual enemy Clan Leader.

Getting buffs for the Clan Leader Immortal should not be a priority but shouldn't be overlooked. Ideally, players will want to send a small number of players for this task, and if the Clan has enough players, the Leader can also opt to send another small group to the 2nd Support Battle.

Rewards

Diablo Immortal

After a long battle, players will usually look for compensation for their efforts and time. The physical rewards for winning this battle usually aren't the greatest, but there is a chance to obtain Legendary Items from winning.

Players would never say no to getting a free Legendary Item. The biggest reward from winning the battle is getting one step closer to becoming an Immortal Clan.

The Shadow Wars exist solely to figure out which Dark Clans will represent the Top 10 Dark Clans, and the best Clan of them all shall reign as Immortals.

The Clan that becomes an Immortal Clan can choose up to two other Clans to form Alliances with and usually will aim to form bonds with the 2nd and 3rd best Clans. This means that even if the clan players are in doesn't claim the Rank 1 spot, there is still hope for players to still become an Immortal or at least earn the Battle lessons to prepare for the next set of Shadow War battles.
