In order to celebrate its first anniversary, Diablo Immortal is adding a new class and zone, where players will find a batch of new content to enjoy. Diablo Immortal recently added a new game mode and limited-time event to keep players engaged ahead of a series of updates coming in 2023. Despite the controversy surrounding the game's microtransactions, the developers kept working on Diablo Immortal to address player frustrations while introducing new catch-up mechanics to help newcomers get up to speed.Diablo Immortal's microtransactions were immediately controversial when it first launched on mobile devices in July 2022. The game drew criticism from many players for favoring a disliked pay-to-win framework. However, the vocal criticism of microtransactions seemingly didn't prevent Diablo Immortal from surpassing millions of dollars in global sales. Some people think it appeals to a specific portion of RPG fans, which helped the game gather millions of players despite any backlash.RELATED: Diablo Immortal Update Introduces Fishing and MoreBlizzard has confirmed in a blog post that it will bring a ''monstrous'' class to Diablo Immortal that specializes in a mid-range playstyle using a classic weapon type. Details about the mysterious class, such as its skill set, appearance, and lore, are currently scarce. Blizzard further stated that this new class will be introduced sometime in July. Diablo Immortal turns one year old in early June, around the same time Diablo 4 comes out, and the game will receive a series of updates that may encourage players to give it a shot once again.

There are a total of six classes in Diablo Immortal, each having its own merits and drawbacks. These character classes are the Demon Hunter, Wizard, Barbarian, Monk, Crusader, and Necromancer, who can be used to clear PvE content or push the leaderboards . When the new class arrives in July, players will have another option for dominating PvP matches. As for the new zone called Ancient's Cradle, it will be added to the game sometime in mid-June. This creepy island is where players will join PvP events, take on new enemy types, and earn rewards by completing side quests.

Blizzard will also host a celebration event for Diablo Immortal's first anniversary, which will delve into the history of Sanctuary's creation and interlink the game's narrative with that of Diablo 4. Although some Diablo 4 lore related to the creation of Sanctuary has been released recently, the upcoming event will reveal new information on how Lilith and Inarius built the settlement that is home to many people and places of interest.

Diablo Immortal is now available to play on Mobile and PC.
