Diablo Immortal released as a free-to-play action-RPG on June 2, developed primarily for mobile devices while also having a PC port with crossplay. A dungeon-crawler like its predecessors, Diablo Immortal maintains the core facets of the wider franchise with a more multiplayer-oriented focus, set between the events of Diablo 2 and Diablo 3.

The story of Diablo Immortal concerns the presumed death of the Archangel Tyrael, which plunges humanity into a state of cataclysmic uncertainty. The powerful Worldstone has been left shattered and has pieces scattered over the land, fostering a sinister environment. A race has begun between brave heroes and the legions of Hell for these shattered pieces, with the Demons hoping to oversee the return of the nefarious Lord of Terror. Players are tasked with trying to stop this bleak future together.

The Necromancer Class in Diablo Immortal - Strengths

The Necromancer character class in Diablo Immortal is undoubtedly one of the most unique available to players. With the ability to reanimate and command the undead, Necromancers can create a seriously impressive battlefield presence via the use of powerful summons and crowd-control abilities.

The Necromancer's utility lies within the increased versatility that it possesses over the five other Diablo Immortal character classes at launch. As previously mentioned, the wide array of summons available to the Necromancer are the source of its power and damage-dealing prowess, simultaneously able to inflict and absorb large amounts of damage, pulling the focus of enemies away from players.

Necromancers also have an abundance of buffs to utilize on themselves and their party members, as well as the ability to detonate corpses on the battlefield, widening the scope of its potential damage as a game carries on. These strengths can be utilized solo or as part of a group, with the presence of strong summons making the Necromancer one of the most solo-capable classes in the game.

The Necromancer Class in Diablo Immortal - Weaknesses

Blizzards suffers a humorous self-own from a StarCraft 2 trailer amid Diablo Immortal monetization controversy.

Although clearly possessing great strengths, the Necromancer class has weaknesses to balance out its combat capability. One of the inherent weaknesses of the Necromancer class is its comparatively low mobility. The Necromancer has a very limited skill selection for traversal, with other, more powerful combat abilities often being chosen instead. This sees the Necromancer class very easily overwhelmed and vulnerable to sudden shifts of enemy frequency, with effective escapes being much more difficult to pull off.

The severity of this mobility-based weakness is only exacerbated by the predominantly close- to mid-range of Necromancer attacks. Necromancers often find themselves having to get uncomfortably close with enemies while attacking, so the lack of reliable escape mobility causes significant problems for a Necromancer. Despite these limitations, the sheer strength of the summons and buffs that Necromancers can provide makes them a very viable class choice in Diablo Immortal.

Diablo Immortal is available now on Mobile and PC.
