Table of contents

From the lowliest imp to the strongest devil, Diablo Immortal is overflowing with enemies. Whether a Barbarian, Crusader, Wizard, or Monk, the player can stalk the swamps and catacombs of Sanctuary in search of new prey, and they will never have to search for long. Ordinary enemies can only keep the player busy for so long, however.

The end-game of Diablo Immortal introduces the player to world bosses, gargantuan enemies that pose a far more significant threat than the average mob. Since these bosses can be farmed for resources, knowing where to find and how to defeat these bosses is important for progression. Here's everything the player needs to know about finding the Hydra.

The Hydra's Location

Diablo Immortal - Library Map

The Fleshcraft Hydra can only be found within the Library of Zoltun Kulle, an area that is inaccessible until the player reaches level 35. Thankfully, one of the game's main quests will send the player to the Library when the time is right, so there's no difficult searching required. Entering the Library is only the first step in finding the Fleshcraft Hydra, however.

The Hydra cannot be found within the Library until it is summoned. To summon the Hydra, the player needs to find five lost tome pages. Finding the lost tome pages isn't difficult, though it does require a bit of grinding.

The pages drop when the player kills enemies within the Library, so the next step is simple: explore the Library, killing everything in sight and being sure not to forget to collect the lost pages once they have dropped.

Once the player has collected five such pages, they must click the page counter on the screen's left-hand side. There, the player can use the five pages to craft a Portal Tome. Upon doing so, a portal will open.

The Sandstone Golem And The Treasure Chamber

Surprisingly, using the lost pages to open a portal doesn't guarantee the player will find the Fleshcraft Hydra, as there are actually two other possible results. The first is that the Sandstone Golem will be summoned instead of the Hydra. The second is that the player will be teleported to a Treasure Chamber. If the player is just looking for Diablo loot, these alternatives are fine, but obviously, they're a frustrating result if the player is Hydra hunting.

Summoning the Sandstone Golem or being teleported to a Treasure Chamber isn't the end of the world, however, as it doesn't lock the player out of their search for the Hydra.

The solution to receiving the wrong result is incredibly simple, if annoying: the player just has to track down five more lost tome pages within the Library. If the Hydra does spawn, it will appear in the Hydra's Lair, located to the west of the Writhing Ingress waypoint.

How To Beat The Hydra

Upon spawning the Hydra, the player has about two minutes to reach the Hydra's Lair and face the beast. It's worth noting that because the Fleshcraft Hydra is a world boss, other players will be alerted of its arrival and may go to the Hydra's Lair as well, seeking to slay the beast and claim its rewards for themselves.

The good news is that other Diablo Immortal players joining the battle will make it significantly easier. In fact, with the assistance of others, the Fleshcraft Hydra isn't that difficult, and because the Library is a common farming zone, there are usually plenty of players who will happily jump on board to defeat the beast.

If taking the Fleshcraft Hydra on solo, the battle is more challenging. The most basic advice is to take one's time and focus on avoiding the creature's attacks. Though Diablo Immortal isn't a game that necessarily rewards or advocates for patience in most of its fights, it helps with this boss. The Fleshcraft Hydra can hit hard, so it's advantageous to dodge its hits and attack when there is an opening.

If the player is looking to farm the Fleshcraft Hydra, it's also worth pointing out that lurking around the Library and waiting for other players to spawn the Hydra, then running to the boss's lair to join in the fight and reap the rewards is a perfectly viable strategy on its own. While it may not be glamorous or make a great deal of sense in terms of Diablo's story, farming enemies never is and never does.

At the end of the day what matters is that the player can get the loot and experience they were looking for. Once the Fleshcraft Hydra has been dealt with, they can then turn their attention to the Sandstone Golem or other end-game content to keep their demon-slaying skills sharp.
