Auto Navigation is an important feature in Diablo Immortal. While it is theoretically possible to beat the game without using it, players will surely spend times lost and taking sub-optimal paths without it. Considering the sheer quantity of daily activities and objectives, this wasted time can snowball into hours of wasted time each week.
But using Auto Navigation has proven a finicky task. Sometimes the box appears to disappear and reappear at will. It'll show up when players don't want it on the screen and then disappear when it is needed. For optimal pathing in Diablo Immortal, here's how to use it consistently.
Auto Navigating To A Quest
Most Auto Navigating will be done knocking out quests. Open up the quest bar on the left side, then tap the desired quest. On the screen, the character should either start immediately walking or opening up a portal. This will take them to a waypoint, after which point, the character should begin walking to the desired location.
Some missions make the characters move by player control. If this is the case, Auto Navigation is disabled, but yellow footsteps will tell the gamer where to go. Any movement or skill cast will knock the player out of Auto Navigation. Interrupting this movement is one of several small mistakes players make. To re-enable it, click on the compass icon in the center of the screen, to the right of the 'Navigation Paused' text.
Auto Navigating To A Map Location
To get to a specific NPC or location on the map, tap the icon and a button will pop up that says 'Navigate' with a compass icon on it. Tap this button and the character will start running. Like with quests, if the point is far enough away, the character will automatically open up a port to a waygate and take that, then start walking automatically.
Auto Navigation is a handy tool, but it does not override the need for common sense. Attacks can hit the player as they run. Some quests will have the character navigate to the center of enemy territory, while plenty of objectives are passed along the way. Keep an eye on the screen while running especially in a hostile area.
