Diablo Immortal is filled with many ways to progress throughout the game when it comes to gaining power. Players can kill random mobs of enemies for items, gold, and experience. Players can complete Rifts, Dungeons, and Raids. Players can commence battle in PvP Westmarch Battlegrounds and even Shadow Clan Wars.

However, there is a hard-to-get resource called Platinum in Diablo Immortal. There are three main methods of obtaining Platinum,

  • Buying it via Microtransactions.
  • Selling items on the Auction House.
  • Completing Codex daily.

Getting 120 Codex Points will net players 300 Platinum daily and this guide will teach players the quickest and most efficient and inefficient manner to gain Codex Points while also fulfilling other needs simultaneously.

Microtransactions

Diablo Immortal Shop Microtransaction

This method of obtaining Platinum would be to use IAP (In-App-Purchases) to conduct Microtransactions and obtain Platinum. By using the currency in real life via Credit Card, Debit Card, Gift Card, etc. players can purchase Eternal Orbs from the Diablo Immortal Shop.

Eternal Orbs are nearly worth two cents, per orb with the starting price of $0.99 + tax for 60 Eternal Orbs and players can obtain 10 Platinum per orb by trading 50 Orbs for 500 Platinum. This method is the quickest path to acquiring Platinum; however, players looking to stay completely F2P (Free To Play) can avoid this by using the aforementioned methods presented above.

Auction House

Players can use the Auction House to buy or sell unbound rare items for Platinum. Players who often run Elder Rifts embedded with Eternal Legendary Crests greatly benefit from this option of earning Platinum.

Being able to take unwanted drops and sell them to others at low, medium, or high prices can net players large amounts of Platinum, especially if they're lucky enough to get a 2 or 5-star Legendary Gem.

Players can get drops elsewhere; however, Elder Rift is where the rarest and most expensive drops are found. This option would be the second-fastest way to earn Platinum, but Eternal Legendary Crests are obtained through spending real-life currency and are not F2P friendly.

Dungeons

Diablo Immortal Forgotten Tower Dungeon

Dungeons are instances filled with many deadly monsters and multiple Bosses. Players will usually find themselves running Dungeons regularly, whether it be for Item Set drops, Legendaries, or even EXP (Experience Points). Certain Dungeons are more suited for different goals. For example, Tomb of Fahir gives a decent amount of EXP and Loot and holds a certain type of unique Item Set Drop, but it is one of the longest Dungeons to complete.

Players not looking for the specific Item Set that drops from here would be best to avoid this dungeon, for efficiency's sake. However, since our goal is Platinum, we want to complete the Temple of Namari Dungeon. It's one of the shortest Dungeons in the game, yet gives us a whopping 20 Codex Points per clear or 40 if it's a Featured Event.

This Dungeon only takes about 3-5 minutes to clear. After calculations, this breaks down to roughly 4-6 Codex Points per minute or 8-12 Codex Points per minute if it's a Featured Event, which will let us reach 120 Codex points in 10-30 minutes. This is hands down the best F2P (Free To Play) method for receiving Platinum.

Elder Rifts

Diablo Immortal Elder Rift

Elder Rifts are short randomly generated Dungeons that are jam-packed with hundreds of enemies for players to fight. With every monster that is slain, the bar on the player's Quest Log will fill up gradually.

Elite and Rare mobs will drop special globes that fill up the bar way more swiftly in comparison to regular mobs, so it's best to try to rush through the Elder Rift searching for Elite and Rare mobs to destroy.

Once the bar is filled up, a random boss will spawn and once the boss has been killed, Magic, Rare or Legendary items will be dropped.

As great as these are, it's only the icing on the cake because the main reason for completing this task is to get the 8 Codex Points, or 16 if it's marked as a Featured Event. Although 8 doesn't seem like a lot of points, Elder Rifts can be completed in 2-4 minutes, depending on how strong and lucky players are.

After calculating the time required for the Elder Rift, players are earning 2-4 Codex Points per minute or 4-8 Codex Points per minute if the Event is Featured. Players will be able to reach 120 Codex Points within 15-60 minutes using this route.

Bestiary

Diablo Immortal Bestiary

The Bestiary can be completed by killing random enemies outside of instances, such as Dungeons, Challenge Rift, Elder Rift, Helliquary Raids, etc. Players will usually find themselves doing this while clearing Story Quests, Bounty Boards, or Lost Page Hunting.

These random enemies can drop something called Monstrous Essence, and once 10 have been gathered, players can complete their Bestiary. This can be done up to 3 times daily and gives players 40 Codex Points, Loot, EXP, and Gold. This is the most Codex Points obtainable out of any event in the game. However, this does not make it the best method of gaining Codex Points.

Monstrous Essence is very unpredictable when it comes to dropping. Sometimes players will find many, other times they'll kill hundreds of enemies without a single one dropping.

This makes Bestiary an inconsistent and unreliable method of getting Codex Points, making it impossible to give calculations on how long it would take to get 120 Codex Points using this method. It's best to let the Bestiary be something that gets completed while players are completing other important tasks, rather than mainly focusing on the Bestiary itself.

Bounty Boards

Diablo Immortal Bounty Board

Bounties are randomly generated short Quests that reward players with Loot, Gold, EXP, and 8 Codex Points. The Quests are usually fairly easy to complete tasks, such like kill X number of enemies in Z location or collecting X number of items from enemies located in Z location.

Players can complete up to 4 Bounties a day, which is 32 Codex Points. However, if players are lucky enough, they may get enough Monstrous Essence they need while clearing these Bounties for a whopping total of 72 Codex Points.

Even though the odds are low, it's still a possibility and without the Bestiary being involved, it takes about 4-5 minutes per Bounty. After calculations, this breaks down to about 1-2 Codex Points per minute, making this one of the worst options to choose for obtaining Platinum.
