Following its awkward reveal at BlizzCon 2018, Diablo Immortal has gone on to become a big success for Blizzard. The free-to-play mobile and PC title has already pulled in $24 million in just two weeks, even if the microtransactions have come under fire from fans and critics alike. Part of the reason for the game's ultimate success is due to the gameplay, which should feel right at home to Diablo veterans, even with a few new tweaks such as recharging abilities rather than mana consumption.

Longtime fans of action RPGs will still find all of the classic hallmarks of the series from different classes to play as, loot, XP, monster slaying, and of course, random events that can pop up during exploration. Boss battles are also a big part of the experience, such as massive beasts like the Hydra, which promises a chance at scoring even more rare loot.

During exploration of the game's various zones, Diablo Immortal players may also come across randomized events including Demon Gates. Here is everything players need to know about these events including where to find them and how to complete them.

What are Demon Gates?

While exploring Diablo Immortal, Demon Gates are a completely random portal that can appear as a Zone Event inside of the Realm of Damnation. Essentially, these are tools that the boss character Skarn uses to summon his demons into the realm. As expected, Demon Gates are entirely random and can appear anywhere within the zone, so it's possible that players may not even run into a Demon Gate during a play session.

Considering there isn't a way to spawn or trigger them, players shouldn't actively hunt them, but play normally in the zone and hope to run into one. Thankfully, when one is spawning, players within the zone will be notified. The gates are worth it however, as completing them gives players great rewards and loot like Enchanted Dust which is critical for upgrading weapons and equipment.

How to Complete Demon Gates

It's worth noting that Demon Gates are intended to be high level, late-game events. In fact, in order to reach the Realm of Damnation zone, players will need to be at least level 56 and the difficulty will need to be set to Hell, unlocked after finishing the campaign and reaching level 60.

Once those requirements are met and a Demon Gate is found, players can enter it to face waves of enemies while also finishing simple tasks under a certain time limit. While Blizzard originally confirmed Demon Gates as a three person activity, they can also be finished solo, so players don't need to find a group beforehand. Once the demons have been taken out, the final thing to do is to seal the gate shut, preventing any more demons from invading the realm.

Thankfully, players will be rewarded for getting the job done. Outside of the previously mentioned Enchanted Dust, players have also received armor, and with a little luck, extra materials and legendary drops. It's also possible to earn Cursed Chests during these events, providing players with even more loot
