Although Diablo Immortal does introduce new elements to the long-running action RPG formula in the way of being free to play with microtransactions, the game will largely feel similar for longtime fans. As expected, players not only gain XP to make their character stronger through additional stats and perks, but they continue to farm loot to get better weapons and gear ranging from varying levels of rarity.

As players progress, the added gear boost not only helps survivability against some difficult bosses, such as the imposing Skarn, but it also opens up new opportunities for higher difficulty levels and even end game activities like Elder Rifts and PvP. Players can also take part in Helliquary Raids, some of the most challenging content in Diablo Immortal, though the rewards are worth it as they grant players with permanent buffs from Demonic Remains as well as a chance at some of the best loot.

Where to Find Vitaath

Before tracking down The Shivering Death, Diablo Immortal players will need to be at least level 41 and have finished the main campaign in order to access Helliquary Raids. In fact, it's recommended that players have a combat rating of at least 2,280 in order to even stand a chance against Vitaath and her minions. While Helliquary Raids can be done solo, it's highly recommended that players group up to take on Vitaath for a slightly easier time.

Once those prerequisites have been met, players will need to travel to the Frozen Tundra. The gate itself is near the Bitter Hearth Waypoint which is east of the Cavern of Echoes Entrance.

Combat Tips and Strategies

Before the fight against Vitaath begins, players will be taking on waves of Ice Clan enemies, ranging from warriors, shamans, and Impalers. Once they are defeated, The Shivering Death makes herself known and the true boss battle begins. Just like other Helliquary Raid bosses, this battle is broken into four parts.

During phase one, players will be dealing with a frontal sword strike attack as well as an ice barrage that deals knockback damage in a straight line. Her most damaging move during this phase is a wave of ice that players should avoid at all costs.

Phase two and three are similar in that Vitaath summons ice clones that make her invulnerable to damage while they're active. Once players defeat the clones, her shield breaks, and she becomes vulnerable again. Ice waves and an airborne AoE attack are also common during these phases, so players should look for highlighted areas on the stage which indicate where the damaging attacks are going to land.

Once her heath drops far enough, phase four has Vitaath moving to the center of the stage to perform a huge AoE attack that has ice spikes raining down from the ceiling. Players should focus on avoiding the attack and healing as reviving players as this is happening is nearly impossible. In addition to this attack, players will also see a mix of all previous phases as well.
