Though Diablo Immortal is swimming in controversy, there are still some aspects of the game that are interesting to dive into. One such aspect is the PVP gameplay, which is implemented as a core mechanic in the game. Players start as mere adventurers and work their way up into one of two PVP factions, endlessly competing to prove themselves worthy of protecting Diablo Immortal’s world from demons and terror.
While becoming an Immortal is tricky, becoming a Shadow is a little less complicated. It can still be a bit confusing, though, since the game doesn't offer players a straightforward quest to choose which side to join.
How To Become A Shadow In Diablo Immortal
There are two methods for becoming a Shadow in Diablo Immortal. The first is to win the Shadow Lottery, while the second is getting invited by someone who owns Akeba’s Signet.
Winning the Shadow Lottery To Become A Shadow
Every day, at 12 PM, 6 PM, and 9 PM, the Mysterious Patron at the Wolf City Tavern in Westmarch holds a Shadow Lottery. After participating, players have to wait for an hour to find out the results. Upon winning the Shadow Lottery, they should go back to the Mysterious patron and talk to him. He will initiate a quest to talk to the Bartender Baily.
When accepting the Bartender Bailey’s contract, players will be able to enter the Court of Whispers to do multiple quests and impress multiple NPCs. The main three domains that players need to finish are Path of Blood, Raid the Vault, and winning against three Ancient Champions. All challenges are fairly easy because players can still take health potions when low on HP, meaning that they can be completed without breaking a sweat.
- Path of Blood:Nuon will ask players to go through three waves of demons and monsters and survive. There are no bosses nor is there any real danger, just a quick three waves that players will quickly finish.
- Raid the Vault: Talking to the Vault Master will start the Vault raiding quest. This is actually a fun activity that Shadows can take part in later in a party of four players. The idea is to raid Immortal's Vaults while surviving. There are enemies called Wardens that will appear during this challenge and alert Immortals of Shadows existing, so players should be sure to kill any Wardens that they encounter as quickly as possible.
- Defeat the Three Ancient Champions: After completing the other challenges, players should talk to the Mysterious patron to initiate the final challenge, which involves taking on three Ancient Champions. This fight would’ve been a little challenging if the champions moved together, but, luckily, each champion joins the fight at a certain time, giving players a much easier time finishing the trial.
After impressing Diablo Immortal's NPCs and finishing the challenges, players will finally get their hands on two Akeba’s Signets. They can then return to the Mysterious Patron to get an invitation using one signet to become a member of the Shadows.
Getting Invited To Become A Shadow
The second Akeba's Signet can be used to invite someone else to the faction. To do so, players simply need to press on a person and invite them to the Dark Clan. If they're not in the Shadows yet, there'll be another prompt to invite them to it. Once they approve, they'll be a part of the Shadows immediately, without having to go through the three trials.
