The Barbarian class has long been a popular choice for fans of the Diablo franchise. Having appeared in most of the Diablo games, the Barbarian class is the perfect choice for those who want to dive straight into the frontlines and cleave through hordes of enemies, be they AI or enemy players, in Diablo Immortal.

Barbarians thrive amid battle, as they dish out powerful area-of-effect and burst damage whilst having excellent crowd control skills, resilience, and mobility. This particularly makes the Barbarian class thrive in PVE combat but players will also note its effectiveness in PVP so long as enemies are kept in melee range. To achieve this in Diablo Immortal, players will require the right skills to turn their Barbarian into an unstoppable killing machine.

7 Lacerate

Unlocked at level 1, Lacerate is one of the two main options for a Barbarian’s primary attack. This skill is great for the early game as every third attack heals the Barbarian for 15% of the damage done, helping the Barbarian stay in combat for longer periods.

Lacerate also has an additional ultimate ability called Blood and Rage which enhances the Lacerate skill for 12 seconds, increasing damage and healing done. Barbarians will also gain a shield that absorbs damage equal to 20% of max life for about 3 seconds.

6 Hammer Of The Ancients

Unlocked at level 1, players can summon a massive hammer to smash down upon their enemies with the Hammer Of The Ancients skill. As the foundations of the earth have been shattered as well, the skill deals additional damage to the area affected for 2 seconds.

The ability is a fantastic area-of-effect skill that is available right from the start and can be upgraded with legendaries such as summoning a spirit ally that stuns nearby enemies and fights beside the player for a short time.

5 Whirlwind

Unlocked at level 8, Whirlwind is perhaps the Barbarian’s most recognized and iconic skill. With a cooldown of 0.5 seconds, players will become a flying tornado of death and damage all enemies around them whilst moving at a 70% reduced speed. Using this skill will consume energy, but the energy bar recharges when Whirlwind is not in use.

Ideal for both PVE and PVP engagements, this ability is the quintessential crowd control skill to mow down multiple enemies when surrounded. A must-have for any Barbarian and ideal for killing creeps quickly to level up.

4 Leap

Unlocked at level 28, Leap allows Barbarians to throw themselves towards the enemy, dealing damage and slowing their movement by 50% for over 4 seconds. In addition to this, each enemy with full life struck by Leap will reduce Leap's cooldown by 1 second, making death from above a literal possibility.

Leap is perfect as an initiating move against PVE mobs to charge the ability up and have it ready. It’s also useful to escape death or stop enemy players from getting away in PVP combat, even if they're cheating.

3 Frenzy

Unlocked at level 34, Frenzy is the alternative for the Barbarian’s main primary attack option. Each hit on an enemy increases the Frenzy’s attack speed by 8% for 3 seconds and this can stack up to 5 times. This essentially means that the player will be hitting enemies quickly and can do a lot of single-target damage.

The skill has an ultimate ability known as Restless Demon which enhances Frenzy for 12 seconds and makes players immune to being stunned whilst increasing attack speed. Players also get a shield that absorbs damage, similar to Blood and Rage. The unhindered movement also granted gives players immunity to crowd control abilities, which can be a lifesaver in some PVP engagements.

2 Undying Rage

Unlocked at level 44, Undying Rage allows players to enter into Rage mode for 5 seconds. Whilst in this state, players cannot die and all attacks made by the player heal the Barbarian for 30% of the entire amount of damage done.

This skill can be useful if the Barbarian is being overwhelmed by large mobs of enemies. It’s very possible to enter this state at 10% health and come out with full HP after this ability has been triggered. What makes this skill incredible is that its cooldown is only 30 seconds, allowing players to cheat death not once but multiple times.

1 Wrath Of The Berserker

Diablo Immortal Unleashing The Barbarian's Ultimate

Unlocked at level 50, this ability allows Barbarians to enter a berserk state that increases attack speed by a whopping 50%. Furthermore, the Barbarian's movement speed is increased by 20% for 6.5 seconds, which is quite insane once players stack this ability with others.

This skill is a great buff for movement and attack speed and is not only great for mopping up PVE hordes but superb at focusing on and taking out weakened enemy players in PVP. It’s possible to combine this with Lacerate to get additional health buffs.

Diablo Immortal is available now for mobile and PC.
