A recent rumor claims the Xbox Series X will soon be receiving a limited-edition console to celebrate the upcoming release of Diablo 4. Since the debut of the original Xbox, Microsoft has often experimented with different console variations for the console line based on popular games and unique design concepts. Microsoft's unique ideas for new console variants have featured in plenty of giveaways giving fans the chance to pick up unusual consoles like the Oreo Xbox Series S. Now, a popular upcoming game is set to receive its own unique Xbox.The impending launch of Diablo 4 has been one of the biggest headlines surrounding Blizzard's lineup of games in recent months. The long-awaited Diablo sequel comes more than 10 years after the release of the last main-series game in 2012's Diablo 3, with only side titles like Diablo Immortal and a Diablo 2 remaster released in the decade since. Blizzard has already given fans their first look at the new game, officially launching Diablo 4's beta last week. Neither the appearance nor the official announcement date was revealed, but the post did reveal the console variant will release on June 6th. Billbil-kun also paid special mention to the fact that the console is listed as a "bundle," suggesting it will include the game as well as potentially a special Xbox controller. The Diablo 4 Xbox Series X bundle will reportedly retail for $559.99.

A new Xbox console modeled after Diablo 4 would not be the first time Blizzard has collaborated with Microsoft on limited-edition hardware. Leading up to the release of Diablo 2 Resurrected in 2021, Microsoft held a giveaway for a custom Diablo 2-themed Xbox Series X, complete with a 3D Diablo emerging from the top of the device. Microsoft's unique console designs have spanned a wide variety of franchises and developers from popular series like The Mandalorian to games like Deathloop and Pac-Man.

Microsoft's potential Diablo Xbox comes as the beta has given fans their first look at the long-awaited Diablo 4. While many players have been excited to return to the world of Sanctuary, the open beta has been met with its fair share of criticism. Popular streamer Asmongold was particularly critical of Diablo 4's Druid class, feeling that the Druid feels underpowered and "not as fun to play" as a sorcerer from its initial build. Regardless, Diablo 4 has gotten plenty of people talking and an exclusive Diablo Xbox will be sure to please fans.

Diablo 4 releases on June 6th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
