A Diablo 4 player has pointed out that World Tiers 3 and 4 in the game are now level capped. Apparently, this information was also excluded from the Diablo 4 Season 1 patch released yesterday, which has left many fans disappointed.

World Tiers in Diablo 4 allow players to scale up the difficulty in the game to get improved loot, XP, and gold. When the game launched last month, players had to finish the campaign and scale up to level 50 to access the Capstone dungeon for World Tier 3. Once the players got access to Tier 3, a quest marker showed up for the World Tier 4 Capstone dungeon almost instantly, which players could complete directly after level 50. However, it seems that players have to be a certain level to access a higher World Tier now following the release of the Diablo 4 Patch 1.1.0a, which the community isn’t really happy about.

In a post on the Diablo 4 subreddit, user Meryhathor posted a forums link that said players cannot enter Tier 3 without being level 50, and Tier 4 required them to be level 70. However, user the-true-steel commented that this information wasn’t fully accurate. With the help of a streamer’s VOD, they explained how completing the Capstone dungeon for Tier 3 at level 37 restricted the streamer from accessing it, but it worked when they tried to do the same at level 40. Another user commented saying that the Tier 4 Capstone dungeon shows up as a priority quest when the player scales up to level 60.

Most of the players in the comments seemed to agree that level 40 and 60 are the level requirements for progressing World Tiers, but many were still enraged by Blizzard’s decision to do so. While this solved one problem for Blizzard where players could farm Tier 4 XP and loot at lower levels by getting higher level players to carry them, the latest patch reduced the XP gains from enemies at lower World Tiers in Diablo 4. For instance, the monster levels will always trail the player’s level by 5 until the Tier 3 monster level 70 is reached. This means that players will now have to grind even more to reach higher Tiers, which wasn’t the case before Season 1.

Apart from this change, Blizzard also made several other changes that didn’t sit well with fans. For instance, while making big changes to certain gameplay mechanics, players’ existing gear and weapons in Diablo 4 were also secretly nerfed. Additionally, Sorcerer mains were unhappy with the latest Unique weapon for the class, which seems to not be very useful according to many. Thankfully, Blizzard has mentioned that it is evaluating player feedback and will address the concerns in a Campfire Chat on July 21.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
