Diablo 4 just revealed a trailer that featured brand new cinematic footage from the highly-anticipated ARPG. The scenes showcased in the new trailer tease some major story moments players will soon experience in Diablo 4.

Players got a taste of Diablo 4’s first act during the beta weekend events, where they saw its premier chapter unfold. However, the early cinematic trailers for the ARPG stand out in the memories of many fans–especially the 2022 Game Awards trailer featuring a massive battle between Inarius, Lilith, and their respective armies.

Now, players have gotten a taste of some of the other cinematics they can expect to see in Diablo 4. Some of the sequences shown were familiar to those who played in the beta, such as the cutscene where Lilith arrives in Diablo 4's starting town of Nevesk. However, several new scenes can be seen throughout the trailer, many of which seem to be from the full version of the climactic battle between the Church of Light followers and the armies of Hell. From clips showing knights battling a giant demon, Inarius taking on a powerful monster himself, and Reverend Mother Prava being overrun by enemies, players are in for quite a ride in the full cinematic.

The Story Launch Trailer also shows snippets of other important story moments coming in Diablo 4. Some of the most notable scenes include Lilith cornering a terrified knight with what appears to be an orange soulstone, Donan–a new major character in Diablo 4–facing down Lilith and a cerberus-riding demon in Scosglen alongside the player, and Neyrelle channeling magic and causing blue marks to appear on her neck. While players don’t have full context for these scenes, they certainly paint an intense atmosphere for Diablo 4.

The trailer itself features heavy narration by the Bloodied Wolf–a mysterious figure that has caused much speculation among Diablo 4 fans–and is set to “Nightmare” by music star Halsey. Like the Diablo 4 Gameplay Launch Trailer, which featured music by Billie Eilish, this teaser is reminiscent of previews made for blockbuster films.

Diablo 4’s launch is right around the corner. Though the full release is soon, players can explore the dark corners of Sanctuary in early access starting on June 2. Unfortunately, Diablo 4 early access is locked behind the Digital Deluxe and Ultimate Editions. Even so, players who don’t purchase the premium editions of Diablo 4 won’t have to wait long to experience the grim tale for themselves.

Diablo 4 will be available June 6 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
