An announcement on Blizzard’s official website has revealed Diablo 4 Season of Blood’s story that will release on October 17, wherein a powerful vampiric dark lord raises an army of bloodthirsty vampires to decimate Sanctuary for reasons unknown. The season's trailer reveals that players will need to master vampiric abilities in order to fight the enemies, for which the game is introducing a Vampire Hunter companion named Erys, who is voiced by Hollywood actress Gemma Chan. Along with this, Season of Blood will also include a new questline for players to follow, but it isn’t known if this story is directly related to the aftermath of Lilith’s defeat.

Aside from this, Season of Blood will also introduce 5 new and returning endgame bosses in the game. Blizzard is also making it possible for players to target farm-specific Uniques and Uber Uniques in Diablo 4 for both Seasonal and Eternal Realm characters. In addition to this, the highly-requested Stash filter feature is also arriving with Diablo 4 Season 2. Blizzard also mentioned adding other updates to inventory management, where it is currently working to provide additional Stash space in the game.

A common complaint players had when the game first launched was that Gems were taking up too much inventory space. To rectify this, Blizzard had announced that Gems in Diablo 4 will be transferred to the Materials tab sometime in the future, which will now become a reality with Season 2. Other updates include a reworking of the Vulnerable, Overpower, and Critical Strike damage systems, along with the carrying forward of Renown rewards, Skill Points, Paragon Board, and Potion charges to the next season once achieved on any previous Eternal or Seasonal character.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
