Earlier this month, the publisher revealed the open beta dates for Diablo 4 and began revealing new promotional material for the game. Earlier today Activision Blizzard published a new video that broke down the world of Sanctuary. The people behind the game discussed the world itself, which is mainly broken down into five different zones. One is said to be mainly sand dunes, another is inspired by Scotland, while a third takes inspiration from the Carpathian Mountains. There is an additional region described as a mountainous desert region while another is a swampy territory in the south. The video then goes on to break down the new enemies and what players can do within the world.

The development of the upcoming game has not been without controversies. Activision Blizzard has battled a number of various workplace abuse allegations, and Diablo 4 has reportedly had a troubled development full of crunch time in order to meet deadlines. The various editions that the company revealed have even included a Premium Edition that doesn't even include the game. Despite these issues, the company is still moving forward with the project and seems committed to its current release date.

Diablo 4 was originally announced at BlizzCon in 2019 which came a year after the announcement of the controversial Diablo Immortal. Over the past few months, however, Activision Blizzard has been ramping up the promotion for its upcoming game. This includes the aforementioned beta dates and collectors editions for the game as well as new statues, and other story information that will give players a better idea as to what to expect from the long-awaited installment. Now players know what kind of world they will be exploring and what to expect from its various regions. Whether the game was worth the long wait, however, remains to be seen.
