Twitch streamer A.M Valentine lost all progress in Diablo 4 after falling asleep during the broadcast of their hardcore run. The streamer spent 24 hours awake playing Diablo 4 when realized they were dozing off, and their Druid almost died. A few seconds later the streamer's marathon actually came to an end, as A.M Valentine fell asleep during the broadcast, and their character, who was in combat, ended up dying. Diablo 4's hardcore mode is one of the most popular and relentless ways to play Blizzard's new game, and the reason is that if the player's character in Diablo 4 hardcore dies, all progress is lost.

Although in early access, Diablo 4's hardcore mode is already taking victims. Another Diablo 4 streamer lost all hardcore progress after a wrong mouse click. Even popular Twitch streamer Michael "Shroud" Grzesiek is among the Diablo 4 hardcore victims. Shroud had spent the evening playing with friends and beating the campaign, but in the first bit of endgame content, the streamer died almost immediately. After Shroud returned to Fractured Peaks, his groupmate Nick "Imexile" met the same fate.

Diablo 4 is already getting praise even with the issues faced at the early access launch. Despite the upsets caused by the hardcore mode, this is not stopping players from trying again, as is the case with A.M Valentine. The streamer promised another hardcore run, and at the time of this writing their broadcast is over nine hours long. With Diablo 4's full release, it will probably not be uncommon to see other victims of the game mode.

Diablo 4 is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
